Popular Cape Town 4-star Hotels

Having travelled extensively and stayed in numerous hotels worldwide, I can confidently state that my recent experience was the worst ever. Despite seeing several negative reviews about their service, I thought they were just occasional lapses. However, I soon discovered that the hotel had a persistent service problem. I had a problem with my reservation and spent two days trying to resolve it, but no one cared. To make matters worse, I was charged ten times the amount I had originally paid for the same room (i.e., $300 instead of $30) without any reasonable explanation. When I questioned this, the staff merely shrugged it off, citing fluctuating prices as the reason. The lady in charge of reservations was extremely rude and disrespectful throughout the ordeal. In addition to the issues with my reservation and the exorbitant charges, the air conditioner was not working properly and made a lot of noise. Furthermore, the fridge in my room made a huge noise, which disturbed my sleep at 2 am (I recorded a video as proof). Moreover, the noise levels in the dormitory were unacceptable all the night! making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. In short, I urge anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice and look for other options.

Hotel was at a good location perfect for planning tours and close to the waterfront and many places around the staff were friendly and accomodating breakfast was amazing loved the variety of food room was okay I would definitely recommend this hotel to travellers. The view is amazing from the bedroom overlooking the mountains from all directions

Upgraded to a Loft suite. Excellent (once the air conditioner unit was explained). Staff great. Housekeeping a bit too eager. On site restaurant Liberty's seems slow and disorganized, even for South Africa and especially for a Hilton's. Free shuttle to V&A Waterfront every two hours. Walking distance to the Old Biscuit Mill (a Saturday morning must-do). Regular and reliable taxi service around Cape Town at reasonable rates, for drop off and pickup. Airport shuttle. Neighborhood was very safe Don't pre-book tours before you get here; Yasir and his team will take good care of you.

The hotel was out of this world.The staff were friendly and extremely helpful .The hotel’s cleanliness was breathtaking .My room was nice and spacious The hotel bar has an outside are where you can chill and have a cocktail .The hotel also has a restaurant,you don’t have to order in or go out to eat because the food was very good .I cannot wait to be back and experience the pool area

After a 25 minute or so Uber ride from CPT airport, we arrived late morning - reception staff were so welcoming and friendly, stored our luggage whilst we relaxed at the pool after coming off of a night flight from the UK! Room was ready at 3pm, we were driven to the room and shown around our 2 bed apartment - we absolutely loved it! Apartment was so spacious, gorgeous views and appliances and bathrooms equally as good. The complex is super safe and only a short walk to the waterfront where you'll fine many restaurants and bars! The waterfront village is also minutes walk to the Hotel Silo which was fantastic for an evening meal and drinks, also Hotel One and Only which was worth a visit for a drink. Overall everything was perfect for our stay and I'm so glad we opted to stay in the waterfront village- the location for me was 10 out of 10. Swimming pools were quiet and relaxing! The only slight hiccup was when ordering ubers, some drivers found it difficult to get into the property - as there's various entrances and top notch security- however if your room is located close to reception, order your uber from ”Luxhill apartments” and that's usually easier for the drivers to find - you can also stroll across to the V and A waterfront for ubers too. I would definitely visit again!

This is a very nice (new) hotel close to the downtown and Waterfront area. A twenty minute walk to either location (not an easy walk) - they do have canal water taxi service available to take you to the waterfront. Definitely worth the experience. The breakfast service is delightful but can get crowded at times due to their catering of large tour groups. Rooms are nice, AC unit works very well, showers hot, tv selection extensive, and service awesome. Recommend for those looking for a very nice hotel at a reasonable rate. One downfall to the hotel / location is that is bucks up to the container / shipping area so when vessels come in you will hear a lot of container unloading noise at night. Ask for an ”even” numbered room so you are on the opposite side and you get a view of Table Mountain

The location of the President Hotel is very good. It is the preferred hotel recommended by South African friends. It takes only 5 minutes to walk to the beach. We booked the Ocean Classic Room (with balcony). There is no picture of this suite type on Ctrip. I have been worried that I can’t see the sea view. In addition, the big bed can be split into 2 single beds by the hotel. The hotel arranged us in rooms 647 and 648 (the highest 6 floors of the hotel), which are located in the northeast of the hotel. You can see both the sunrise and the sunset by the sea. It is really a super invincible sea view room. Since the two rooms are next to each other, there was a dinner party. The hotel does not provide toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers, you need to bring your own. The breakfast variety is very rich and there are quite a lot of choices. Most of the tourists in this hotel are European and American guests, and I didn't see many Asians. There are 2 large bottles of pure water (1L volume), coffee and tea bags in the room, among which black tea is a specialty of South Africa, you can try it. The hygienic condition of the hotel is OK, and the bathroom supplies are average. The hair dryer was in the drawer of the desk and I couldn't find it on the first day. The guest room is cleaned every day, and a tip of 2 dollars is prepared for the service staff every day, just put it on the bedside table. South Africa uses South African standard plugs, so remember to bring them with you when you go abroad. Alternatively, a 2-pin round plug can be used.

The Commodore Hotel is a very comfortable 4 star hotel. It is located a 5 minute busy and safe walk from The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront precinct, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the Waterfront. The restaurant offered a varied and plentiful breakfast buffet. The bar area was comfortable for a pre or post dinner drink and perfect for a light dinner after a busy sightseeing day. There is a lovely courtyard area and small pool (the water is bracing as the pool is not heated, understandable with the daily load shedding experienced in South Africa). We stayed in a room with small balcony and views to Table Mountain. Highly recommended.

Bad price! The rooms are small and the facilities are simple. Compared with the Westin next door, the price is a bit cheaper, but the accommodation experience is much worse! Not recommended.

The location is super good, the room facilities and services are average, the surroundings are safe, and there is a large shopping mall in the annex, which is convenient for shopping and suitable for tourism and business trips. The hotel room is a loft with average facilities, and the hot water for the bath is unstable. General front desk service.
