I had a lovely stay! The manager Paddington was really incredible! He was always willing to help with what I needed, and was friendly, kind, and did an amazing job! :-)

This is a great little place! A quick Uber to the waterfront, and set in a quiet residential road, it's a proper oasis of peace and quiet (apart from the squawking Ibis, maybe!!) We were in the ground floor room, looking out over the pool. The bed was really comfortable. Storage is minimal, but that was ok. Nice shower. The outside area is really pretty with plenty of greenery and places to lounge around and also have breakfast, when the weather allows. Tino, the host, is a great guy, full of useful tips and recommendations and he really helped us out a lot when we had a series of problems with our hire car (Avis, if you need a non-recommendation!) Breakfast is lovely, fab rolls from a local bakery and both continental and cooked options. Thoroughly recommend.

Staying at Cape Standard is a treat. From the moment of booking, everything is pleasant; communication is rapid and clear, our late check-in was no problem and Paddington had organised a little snack and a beer for us, which is very much needed after an eleven hour flight. The street and neighbourhood is quiet and how lovely it is to wake up in a green hideaway in the middle of Greenpoint. David, the owner, is an incredible host and extremely funny! Can't wait to return at the end of April. Happy to have found Cape Standard and I will now consider it our home whenever we're in Cape Town.

The Cape Standard is a small, four room boutique hotel tucked away on the edge of Sea Point in Cape Town. Over the years I have stayed in this hotel about 6 times on that tells you just what a special and delightful place it is. Located on a very quiet cul-de-sac with adequate safe free car parking the hotel is within a 3-minute walk of the promenade and has a delightful, informal breakfast area set around a small swimming pool. It is an oasis of calm in an otherwise busy city. Our large bedroom had a comfortable double bed, good wardrobe storage, a flat screen TV, excellent wi-fi, tea and coffee facilities, a fridge with a mini bar, a sofa and a small desk for working. The room led out onto the swimming pool area where there were sun loungers. What makes this place so special is not only the excellent quality of the accommodation and the convenient location (the wonderful open air Sea Point sea point swimming pools are about a mile away) but also the personal welcome from the owner David and his very efficient and personable manager, Tino. I have stayed at many hotels around the world on this one excels in the personal welcome and attention that you receive. It was and will remain my ‘go to’ hotel in Cape Town and I unreservedly recommend it to you.

This place is unbelievable! We stayed for 4 nights prior to a cruise out of Cape Town. Tino and David were exceptional hosts, nothing was too much trouble and we loved the fact that the Cape Standard was small and friendly. Location is perfect, walking distance to the Waterfront in 20 minutes. Rooms are very well appointed, we stepped off our patio area straight into the lovely pool. Breakfast was fantastic lots of choice and great quality. We will most certainly be coming back here on our next visit to Cape Town. Thank you from Vicki & Rob

Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans ce petit havre de paix en pleine ville. Un endroit superbe, un très beau jardin , on oublie la ville ... Dommage pour nous car il ne faisait pas assez chaud pour profiter de l'extérieur. Tino et Paddington sont très accueillants et toujours disponibles. Un pied à terre parfait pour visiter la ville. Nous avions les deux chambres attenantes avec balcon au dessus de la piscine, superbe et très calme. On recommande et espère revenir !!
