Easy check in, everything you might need is present in the room but if there is something missing just ask wonderful people running the place and it will be there in a flash. We had a room with en-suite facilities, water in a shower was hot and pressure is great! Every single person of the staff went above and beyond to help make our stay the most comfortable, helping arrange and book trips, do a phenomenal housekeeping and maintenance work and simply delight every morning with a friendly chat.

I'm pleased about the great people people working at the house. Very friendly indeed. Thay make you feel at home.

The house is really beautiful. There was some confusion with the room I had chosen when I arrived, but the issue was resolved immediately and kindly. In fact, the discussion about the room led me to discover their rooftop, which is accessible to all guests. I found out about it from the night manager, who was very helpful and kind. I spent two hours on the rooftop, watching the stars and Lion's Head mountain at night. It was a truly great stay, especially if, like me, you’re looking for a homely atmosphere rather than a typical hotel room.

If the historical pull of the house is not reason enough for you to stay, then the comfort and warm and welcoming feel will do it for you. This is the perfect getaway for those who want access to the nice spots of Cape Town, at the same time wanting to retreat to some peace and quiet at the end of the day. The aura of Asthon Manor is magnetic, and the vibe is homey. The staff are very attentive and efficient (thanks Leisl) and the proprietor has given so much attention to detail. Be it the artwork (love the equine art), the antique furniture, the eclectic book collection, or the most comfortable bed you have ever slept in – everything about Ashton entices and has your comfort in mind. As for amenities, there is safe off-street parking, good security measures in place (including a safe in the room), laundry service for those that need, and also, for those coming to Cape Town for the first time, Leisl can help plan your timetable of activities and make the necessary bookings for you to enjoy a dinner out or see the sights. This place is perfect for the solo traveler, the digital nomad (the internet connection is reliable and fast), the vacationing family, couples on retreat and everyone else in between. Will definitely plan to come back for more.
