Didn’t stay. The photos and reviews are a complete misrepresentation. The place is not clean and the room we booked was dark and dingy. The owners were very scruffy and were not very welcoming. Asked for refund but refused.

Ich kann leider den positiven Eindruck der vorhergehenden Bewertungen nicht teilen. Die Vermieterin begrüßte uns in einem verschmutzten Outfit und führte uns durch das verwinkelte Haus. Hund und Katz begrüßten uns. Das Mobiliar unseres Zimmers war sehr alt und abgenutzt. Die Tür nicht abschließbar und es roch nach Katzen-Urin. Nach einer Minute in diesem Raum hatte ich das Gefühl, mir wächst ein Herpes auf der Oberlippe. Also haben wir schnell die Flucht ergriffen und sind in ein anderes Hotel gefahren.

Ich bin überrascht von den positiven Bewertungen, die hier zu lesen sind. Als nicht pingeliger Tourist ist dies die erste Unterkunft seit 50 Jahren, die ich mir angesehen habe und nach kurzer Überlegung wieder storniert habe. Die Gastgeberin begrüßte mich mit einem verdreckten Outfit und führte mich zu einem Zimmer, dass Kopfschütteln in mir auslöste. Das es hier an jeglichem Komfort fehlt hatte ich ja noch in Kauf genommen, aber was hier geboten wird, ist einfach nur schrecklich. Das Inventar ist ca. 40 Jahre alt. Tür nicht abschließbar. Und es roch nach Katzenpisse!! Kennen sie das Gefühl, sie stehen in einem Raum und nach 5 Sekunden beginnt ein Kribbeln auf ihrer Oberlippe und sie wissen, jetzt bekomme ich Herpes. Bitte an alle Unterkunftsanbieter: Sortieren sie diesen Anbieter sofort aus.

Wir waren mit großer Familie hier und hatten insgesamt vier Zimmer gebucht. Das Guesthouse ist grundsätzlich schön und hat einfach eingerichtete Zimmer mit einem tollen Ausblick auf die Berge. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist sehr angemessen. Sarah als Host war unglaublich! Sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Das von ihr zubereitete Frühstück war jeden Morgen ein wirklicher Genuss! An dieser Stelle ein ganz herzliches Dankeschön, auch an ihren Mann!

This was a great find - friendly, comfortable, well priced and very well located. Sarah and John were welcoming hosts. My room overlooking the pool was light and airy, and the breakfasts were generous. The guest house is very close to the popular Montebello Centre, and handy for Cape Town's motorway system. The atmosphere is informal; those who want all the amenities of a hotel should probably go elsewhere (and pay more), but I will certainly return.

Very friendly owners, great environment, lush gardens and swimming pool and very safe. Sarah and John made me very welcome and I would struggle to find anywhere as good as this elsewhere. The breakfasts, made by Sarah, were delightful. The location is in the upmarket location of Newlands and is very safe.
