Great hotel! The room is fresh, clean, and what a stunning view of the ocean! Large territory, 2 pools, one right by the ocean. Parking is free, we always found a place (if you don’t arrive too late). Breakfasts are very good and varied, lots of fruits, different cheeses, and even smoothies. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! We will definitely come back again.

We are half way through our stay and I can’t praise this place enough. The hotel itself it’s extremely clean, the food delicious, the staff are just so friendly and helpful. Shout out to Goreti for being super helpful with our son’s gluten free diet. We have a very busy life as a family and have all felt relaxed and are enjoying the much needed family time we were due. Thank you all at Sentido Galosol for making our stay extremely pleasant.

We have recently returned from a wonderful holiday staying at Sentido Galasol Hotel. The hotel exceeded our expectations, located in a quiet area outside Funchal, however still lots of restaurants nearby and small supermarket. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and our request for two bedrooms near each other was fulfilled, both with sea views We stayed on b&b board, and the breakfast selection was excellent. There is a sister hotel which shares facilities, we used the Atlantis Restaurant and the Capoeira bar in the evening which overlook the Atlantic Ocean, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel if you want a quiet hotel, very near to the airport and Funchal. Food was very good, nice pool area with great views. Rooms were immaculate. Did not use the spa but went to the bar in the evening at the Galosol's sister hotel which was just a short walk away. Nice atmosphere at the bar, again with great views out to the bay.

Amazing hotel and facilities. The hotel is well situated with small supermarkets and restaurants nearby, although the hotel’s restaurants were the best in my opinion. It’s a 10 minute drive / taxi into Funchal which we did on a couple of occasions. The hotel rooms are very clean and have everything that you would need, with extra touches like a small sensor light which guides you in the night in the bathroom. The sports facilities are next level, with a huge gym, squash courts and indoor pool to name but a few. As for the food, there is something for everyone, including gluten free and milk alternatives. Ignore the comments about the bad coffee, they have bean to cup, which is really nice. Madeira could be my next favourite place and I would recommend this hotel as it is fabulous.

Really annoying as it’s a beautiful hotel and beautiful place with great staff but our air con didn’t work. The first night it was broken because a sensor wasn’t attached to the dirt and once that was fixed it was less than useless. The entire time, we left a card in the electric meter so the aircon would stay on but the thermostat wouldn’t not budge below 22 degrees; even when set to as low as 18. Or Without the air con issues I would be giving 5*.

This is a review based on our recent experience. Pros: staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area and recommended a few things to try. - facilities are very good. The rooms are spacious and we had a room overlooking the ocean. The breakfast buffet was well served/stocked with fresh food and drinks every morning. The gym is one of my favourite places. Upto date equipment and very helpful staff. - proximity to the beach. Easily my favourite place. It’s only a 5 minute walk and you’re already swimming or snorkelling in the ocean. Cons: outdoor pool seems to close early. 9pm? Unless we misunderstood. - the welcome drinks don’t include non-alcoholic beverages so if you don’t drink (like me), the voucher is pretty much worthless. All in all, a good place to stay generally and I would stay here again.
