This hotel is one of the three hotels. The reception is located at Hotel Rocamar, which is quite far. The room is spacious with a kitchenette, but the decor is a little simple and old-fashioned . The balcony is huge with a sea view. There is a hotel private parking area that costs 7.50 euros per night. Otherwise there are free parking on the street which is hard to find and paid parking which is free at night. The gym, swimming pool, sauna, and steam room are free of charge m, but they close at 6 pm, which is quite inconvenient. There are also many restaurants inside, which you choose to include with the room. I overheard that they did program for Christmas and New Year. It is perfect for those who just want to stay in the resort and not to go around the island.

We had a really nice, pleasant and very relaxing time here in this hotel. We have immediately booked the same one for next year. The hotel is somehow connected to two others whose pools you can use. The rooms were clean, a pleasant standard not worn. The facilities were top-notch, not just a small fridge but also a small mini-kitchen, bathroom a large shower, a hairdryer... what more could you need? The pool directly in front of the room was always quiet, at most three people sunbathing on the loungers. The staff were super friendly. We thought the location was very good, not far from Funchal and enough opportunities to go shopping or eat out all around, a very good car rental company right around the corner.

The hotel is in a good location with a sea view. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception and also in the restaurant. The room is always very clean. The breakfast buffet is plentiful. We will come back any time.

Complex of three hotels allowing you to enjoy the advantages of each! Great breakfast on a large terrace overlooking the sea. Be careful for the Orchidea part, if you take the promotional rooms, it's a view of the wall, a word of advice, take the sea views to be sure... Small downside which means that I only put 4, the indoor pools were not heated

Part of the Rocomar complex. Our room was clean and adiquate size. Kitchinette was small, The pans were big enough to feed a family of 8. It would have benefitted from a small egg pan, a collinder, a grater, salt and pepper pots with some s&p in and filters for the coffee machine. Outdoor pools were chilly- but expected. Spa looked like it had been refurbished not too long ago and was a nice touch. Large plunge pool which was not used much. Lots of steps on the complex. Be prepared. Loads of sheltered sun bathing areas on the terraces. Terraces by Oliviera Apts in desperate need of refurbishment. Main reception in the Royal Orchid and walkways were bare of pictures and very clinical.

These apartments are more like 2 star accommodation, don’t be fooled be their pics. The rooms are dirty, dated, damp and damaged. The kitchenette is ancient and the bathroom was dirty and had seen better days. The pillows were rancid and the rooms door looked like it had been broken into at some point. To top this off there was drilling in the room above.

Stayed in an apartment overlooking the pool and Atlantic ocean,fully fitted kitchen,comfortable bed and kept clean by a lovely team of cleaners.Recpetion staff always smiling and helpfull.I was on bed and breakfast,which was fantastic with s much choice,would go back to this hotel again in a heartbeat
