Iberostar Selection Cancun

Nice resort. Something went wrong with the booking and I had to pay extra for my child. This was a problem between the resort and Trip.com, but I had to solve it. More customer helpfulness from the resort would have been expected here. Food options are decent but a lot of pork. This limits the options for non pork eaters or vegetarians.

Ivan Tacher is phenomenal!!!! My husband and I came to Iberostar in March and saw Ivan for the first time. We couldn’t wait to see him again when we came back! Just saw him again tonight and he was even better than the first time we saw him. We enjoyed his music with all of our family and friends! I love that he encourages the crowd to sing along.

To start, I am a member so this is honest feedback. This was my third time here, I have not been in two years, will be my last. The property is old and looks the same as 10 years ago. Do not stay here, especially during the summer. The hotel does nothing about the seaweed, and it is getting worse. It piles up on the beach and the water looks like a dirty toilet. I understand global changes, but the other properties constantly clean it. I have seen it happen myself at the quetzal and Tucan. The beach looks like trash and is dirty. I stayed in a villa, it was a waste of money. The AC did not work, and I had to ask several times for help. The temperature stayed 78-80 degrees. The pool is so hot, there isn’t a differentiation between air and water temp and it is uncomfortable. The hotel itself is old and needs improvements. My first night, the fire alarm went off every 10 minutes starting at 2 AM for an hour. I could also hear Construction going on. The third night, at 10 PM. I started seeing lights outside and heard hammer drilling on the pool deck. They did construction from 10 PM to 2 AM. I suffered through it, but it happened again the next night even louder. They started resurfacing the deck with the machine from 10 PM to 2 AM along with more hammer drilling with lights everywhere. They knew there would be maintenance and should’ve offered an alternate room. The main pool needs to be resurfaced, if you drag your feet on the bottom, it will cut you. The restaurant near the beach and pool had a line with a 30 minute wait for food. My son and I like to take father trips during the summer, and he said this was the worst vacation we’ve been on. We have been to many Iberostar properties, and I would not even consider this a vacation if you can’t even get into the ocean. Alex is the member manager on the property, and he has done nothing to help me. Member services doesn’t even reply to my emails. I am a member, so think about how they will treat anyone else. I like being a member and I like Iberostar, but this is definitely the worst experience I’ve ever had. There are nicer and newer, hotels, being built in Cancun. I wasted my money, please do not waste yours.

we paid quite good high price to enjoy ,but unfortunately the ocean at this beach front is one of the dirtiest,full of sargassum,and no one try to clean or care to think to do anything to let the hotel costumers to enjoy the ocean,?? food is amazing,hotel is renovated never think of swimming in the ocean

Veronica Chavez was amazing at the lobby bar! She always had a smile when we came to the bar! Valerie did a great job with bingo. Adrian was the life of the party at the evening events! Stefan was so helpful at the concierge desk.
