The Lodge at Camden Hills

My husband and I greatly enjoyed celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary at The Lodge at Camden Hills. The hot tub was fantastic! We enjoyed the double sided fireplace. The kitchenet was well stocked. The atmosphere was relaxing. We will defiantly return, and highly recommend The Lodge at Camden Hills.

As always, a lovely stay. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, including a high-end stove. The bed linens are crisp and bright. The bathroom is modern with big shower. And the sunrise over the water view is spectacular! We will be back!

While the cabin was comfortable, the WiFi was nonexistent even though they advertised “free and high speed internet.” No response from owner or staff. What was going to be a 3 day work stay, I got nothing done. I cannot take zoom calls in a coffee shop. I left a handwritten note in the room asking for an adjustment to the rate but never heard back from the owner. I thought it was rather expensive for 3 nights. Very disappointing!

The unit was a hotel room with a bedroom. Shower was mobile home size with barely enough room to turn around. Bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on and more like sleeping on the floor. Two chairs and no couch, small tv’s and small bathroom sink. Unit definitely not worth the price. Small hotel size refrigerator.

Exceedingly clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated….beautiful view of Penobscot Bay from every room and both of the two private decks. Loved the gas stove with the center griddle and the spacious shower. We enjoyed walking the Sagamore Farm trail after breakfast one AM, though did not locate the sauna (weren’t planning to use it anyway). The town was busy for a weeknight, but it was within walking distance. We discovered a true gem at Beech Hill Reserve nearby. Would return to the Lodge at Camden Hills again, probably during the pre or post season.

We love staying here. The cottages are beautiful and the staff are there if you need help but give you all the privacy you want so you can enjoy your vacation undisturbed. We love staying in the Rockwood cottage because it has a whirlpool tub, fireplace, and a kitchen if you feel like cooking some fresh Maine seafood. And it is pet-friendly! The property itself is lovely and quaint with surrounding areas and views that make you feel close to nature (hiking trails for our dog) but it is a fairly short drive to restaurants, grocery stores, and other businesses. We think we will be coming back every year.
