Universal Hotel Lido Park & Spa

Rundum das was wir gesucht haben. Ruhig, abgesehen von den Reisegruppen beim Essen. Wir sind auf die Terrasse ausgewichen.

Wunderschönes Hotel mit super Personal. Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

The hotel has a great location between two bays with a beautiful view. The grounds are generally well-maintained. There is a lovely wellness area and an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. There are some great hikes to be had in the area surrounding the hotel. The rooms are far too small and very thinly soundproof, and you can hear noise from everywhere. The elevator can be heard every second. We slept very poorly every night because of the noise. With an extra bed for our son, we couldn't open the wardrobe and almost couldn't get onto the balcony. We had already booked an upgraded room category and weren't informed in any way that it was so cramped. We've never experienced a room like this before. The paint is peeling off everywhere on the balcony – it's in dire need of renovation. The towels weren't always replaced. The service in the bar and restaurant was extremely attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the reception staff are completely uninterested in guests' concerns. There are no apologies, no solutions are offered, and concerns are simply acknowledged with a shrug. The completely incompetent behavior of the reception staff unfortunately had a very negative impact on the overall holiday experience. The food on offer at both breakfast and dinner was significantly more extensive, varied, and better than it was seven years ago. However, there is clearly a massive hygiene problem in the dining room. We saw large cockroaches several times, and my husband and numerous other guests got an upset stomach from a Caesar salad one evening and were bedridden for several days. The reception dismissed this with the comment that there was simply a virus going around. This couldn't be true, otherwise my son and I would certainly have been infected. The hikes offered by the hotel were great. A little more advance information about the catering would have been helpful.
