Cala Millor Garden Hotel - Adults Only

We spent a week in cala Milor in september and we have already booked for the next year, avoiding peak season, as in september the beach was completely full of people. On the other hand, the hotel was also full but the atmosphere there was relaxing. Chillout music in the pool bar for those who want relaxing and sports activities run by 2 entertainers who were amazing. It was surprising that one of them speak at least 5 languages, despite most of guests were from Germany and England. The restaurant can cater even fussy eaters, I saw restaurant manager bringing a big glutenfree dessert to a coeliac guest who was having dinner next to me.

I don't know why people feel like this hotel is awful and feel the need to give it a one-star. The hotel itself is basic but good, the food is good (choices very every night and there's plenty on offer for everyone), the bar is good, the pool is good and the rooms are just fine. It's not a 4 or a 5 star hotel, it's a 3 star, so you go there without expectations of grandure. We stayed here for a week, and I can honestly say it was lovely. The staff are brilliant. Laying on coffee and tea facilities if you're checking out in the early hours of the morning was a particular highlight of just good hospitality. So if you're on a budget, you fancy a hotel that does what it says on the tin and is just a 5 minute walk from basically everything in Cala Millor, then you can't go wrong with this hotel. Ignore the bad reviews. People just expect too much from a 3-star hotel. The only downside which i feel I should mention is the transfer to the airport from this hotel. Where the hotel is situated a coach can't get down to it due to the narrow roads with cars parked either side, so it drops you off a 3 minute walk away up the street next to another hotel called the Tropicana. It's not the hotels' fault, of course, but it's just a bit annoying.
Hipotels Cala Millor Park

The hotel is not really for English speaking people, they are very much geared up for German tourist. The hotel waiting staff hardly spoke English and could not understand what we were asking for most of the times. We were all inclusive and no water was provide which we have never not had before, the rooms a tired and could do with been freshen up. The bar area in the hotel was only opened up on 2 occasions, you where expected to sit outside and listen the entertainment which if like us did not like you had to then retire to your room. I have never had this in any other hotel we have said in. The food was okay but was quite repetitive and over cooked at times and not the warmest either. We were not offered towels which later on in our stayed notice that all the German ones had them and were offered them at check in. The only had 4 channels in English all the rest were in German. The location is ideal and convenient for getting around. I would have to say we would not stay again.
Hipotels Hipocampo Palace & Spa

Excellent hotel in a great location. Staff very helpful and efficient and choice and quality of food was first class. First time in Cala Millor, really enjoyed our break which was greatly enhanced by the Hipocampo Palace. Unusually for Majorca no problem in sourcing sunbeds at any time during the day. A first class hotel which no doubt we will visit again.

Had a great experience at Playa Del Moro. The location is excellent, right opposite the beach and in the middle of the restaurants and close to the shopping area. The hotel has great facilities. The swimming pool is a little cold, but the spa and indoor sauna and steam room etc are really warm and comfortable. Hotel reception staff are really friendly. Evening entertainment is good, Michael Jackson tribute was particularly memorable and very realistic. The breakfast was substantial and covered all tastes. Rooms are cleaned promptly. We had a seaview and it was wonderful to watch the sunset in the evening. Can't really fault this hotel and would return.

Great location, close to beach, shops and local restaurants. Hotel was clean and tidy, staff friendly however rooms could do with some modernisation My room was ground floor which was spacious in block 3 and accommodated us comfortably . The cleaner came daily and made beds etc and changed towels if we required them changing. However there was mould on the ceiling just as you entered room and the bathroom was small but had a musky smell. Again mould appearing on the ceiling tiles and droplets of water on ceiling tiles. The only ventilation was a very small window which we just left open all the time so it didn’t smell of damp so much. The rooms could also do with a little kettle and a mini fridge in them as if you are an early riser and fancied a cuppa you had to wait for the onsite restaurant which was across the road to open at 8am to get a hot drink. We brought some bottles of water but again even though it was late October they went warm rather quickly hence why a mini fridge would be handy. The main restaurant served a variety of food basic but something for everyone. Unfortunately there was only a few tables set out for 4 people majority was for 2 people, this caused difficulty for us as a family of 5 and a few times we sat separately as it was busy. They seemed short staffed in the restaurant most of the time particularly at breakfast we were awaiting tables to be cleaned and they ran out of cups and glasses. The bar areas again were short staffed and at both the main bar and pool bar there was often a queue for drinks. Possibly for the future they could look into having the tea/coffee and the fizzy drinks machine self serve as this would reduce the queue at the bars. Also they could invest in some bigger reusable cups as the cups were small probably just smaller than half a pint. Most people ended up getting two drinks each time to save you getting up because of the queue. The evening entertainment was good, Elena is very friendly and comes round and talks to everyone. There was bingo, quizzes and karaoke. The pool bar was closed a few times too with no explanation as to why it was closed. There were plenty of people sitting around the pool but we had to cross the road to go to the main bar in block 2 to get drinks, this was in the daytime too. Overall we had a nice relaxing week at this hotel. However if the few tweaks to the room, restaurant and bars were changed then we would consider returning to this hotel.
