Cairo exceeds expectations
Great staff went the extra mile with help and advice. Gave us the confidence to use the metro and explore safely. Breakfast good and room just fine.

L’hotel est bien situé, au cœur du centre ville et à quelques minutes seulement du métro. Les photos officielles sont flatteuses, les chambres étant en réalité défraichies et leur hygiène laissant à désirer. A noter, l’absence de rideau de douche, faisant prendre tout son sens à la salle d’eau. Le petit-déjeuner demeure relativement basique, principalement constitué de haricots/falafels, accompagnés de tranches de concombre et tomates, et d’œufs durs. Le personnel s’avère très sympathique et disponible, mention particulière à Habiba toujours très souriante et volontaire pour prodiguer aux visiteurs ses nombreux conseils.

Hotel vecchio e fatiscente. La reception è al 4 piano e non c’è assolutamente nessun posto dove parcheggiare. La colazione è gratuita ma spesso si esaurisce prima che tutti gli ospiti ne abbiano usufruito. La nostra camera era al 5° piano e aveva due finestre di cui una non si apriva e l’altra era sporca e arrivavano insetti sul letto posto proprio sotto una delle due finestre. Viene dato in uso un solo asciugamano e i letti hanno solo la fodera su cui dormire e una coperta (questa viene utilizzata da quante altre persone?). Non ho utilizzato l’armadio vista la scarsità di igiene che regnava dappertutto. Il bagno non ha le caratteristiche per poter essere pulito e aveva la doccia con lo scarico dall’altra parte della parete; quando la si utilizzava si allagava tutto il pavimento. Inoltre ci hanno richiesto il rimborso di 55,00 euro per danni causati a due asciugamani e due federe da macchie che non abbiamo causato noi e che probabilmente si riferivano a una tintura per capelli. Nessuno di noi ospiti aveva i capelli tinti, ma non hanno voluto sentire ragioni. Abbiamo pagato e ce ne siamo andati il prima possibile. Allego le foto delle condizioni del bagno. Il peggior soggiorno della mia vita. Lo sconsiglio vivamente

Great Location, Super Clean, Friendly Staff.
I had two days left of an extended business trip and wanted to stay in the heart of old Cairo. This hotel is on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of an old apartment building just off Opera Square where the fast paced modern shopping district meets the busy market street leading up to the Khan-el-Khalil. It is also easy to reach on the excellent metro (at Attaba station). Rooms are good sized, with high ceilings. My bed was very comfortable and the modern a/c was very efficient. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The breakfast room on the 4th floor is bright and airy and although I'm not a breakfast person what was available did the job nicely. The old style lift was a bit nerve wracking for me, but has recently been renewed with a new enclosed cabin, so do not be concerned.

Staff are delightful, and always helpful. The hotel is right in the middle of everything. Lift to 4th floor then reception.
