Grand Hotel Cairns

Well I can't give a WORSER opion on this pub,went there with the mate I've a prosthetic leg,I ordered a beer for the mate and a lemonade for myself,the bloke with the piggy tail told me I look wobbly on my feet,I laughed and said,NO son I'm as stable as a post,he said wait a tick,the bigger bloke come out looked at me and shook his head,I went back to were we sat,the mate of 50 years say's where's me beer,I said no I'm to wobbly mate,he was cranky approached the bigger of the two behind the bar, and asked what's going on,the bigger bloke said your friends a liability,I asked his meaning, he's reply was we don't want a law suit I'm evicting the two of you,I said no weel leave there will be no evictions,it was the most disgraceful act's from a couple human beings I've seen in my 60 year's, these very heavy set,pair the smaller,very heavy set manager balding with a wispy ratty pig tail,got his manager the bigger heavier set manager who wobbled over, said that the short blonde dummy heavy set girl bar manager said I was unsteady on my feet,I have 1 foot,not a set of feet being a returned solider,giving these sort of people the title manager is creating power struck,rude clueless, people who can't manage their own diets and health,we left and went to the crown hotel where my apparently unsteady wobbly on my feet, wasn't a problem with the crown's 1 manager,I told him what had just happened,he shouted us a drink,and said, it's a common acurance at the Grand hotel,he said I can't complain about the manager's manger ,bar manager,there GREAT for his business,he shouted us another drink,and thanked me for my service for our country,and we had a great session,I walked out the exactly the same way I walked in,I with 1 leg,moved quicker than the manager's from the grand with two leg's,. confusing,very amusing,deep down very insulting,

Returned toThe Grand today to have a $10 lunch steak with friends as I had enjoyed it when I was there a few weeks ago with my hubby. As I have dietary issues I had ordered the steak without the chips or gravy as I cannot eat those, and instead asked for a little extra coleslaw. Last time it was all good and not a problem at all and we enjoyed the little meal. Today it was a totally different story due to the manager and her tightwad mentality. Apparently.... despite dropping off the chips and gravy, I was asking far too much to get a little extra scoop of coleslaw. I was told that they "don't make any money on those cheap steaks" so was the reason she thought a little additional coleslaw to replace the chips and gravy was excessive. So... the meal I was expected to have now was to be a tiny steak with a tiny bit of coleslaw.... that's what she was offering unless I paid extra! Its not ok apparently to pay the same price as others getting a full meal, but I only was getting half a meal unless I paid more? She didn't seem at all interested when I shared that they did indeed make considerable money in the long run, as I had returned today with 2 friends as I had a good experience last time. So they had already made about $50 additional today alone, just because of a good experience last time and now bringing friends back. And... we would have returned at least monthly and usually have others with us each time.... but not now! So hun.... you left a LOT OF MONEY on the table today, because of your refusal to give at least a decent sized meal! So thanks to this hostile, rude, unfriendly and unaccommodating manager, we definitely won't be returning regularly as initially planned because she thought it unreasonable to offer a decent amount of salad in exchange for chips and gravy... bet you'd be happy if this was your business! NOT!!!
