Hotel Boutique Convento Cádiz

An excellent repurposed convent into a tranquil hotel in a good location in Cadiz, walking distance to Cadiz's cathedral. Quiet and a little spooky at times, I half expected to see my old grammar school nun popping out a corner, LOL! Rooms were large for European standards and clean. Breakfast was good. Make sure to visit the church next door.

I liked everything Very nice atmosphere in an old convent house. Much space, marble stairs. :) Clean and spaceous room. Wifi was working.

Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast with huge variety of options. It does feel like being in an old convent! It is in an excellent location, room was fine, very clean and comfortable. It isn’t that easy to find on Google maps which is ridiculous as it is 2 mins from Station, the entrance is at the far side of the church on Calle San Domingo. Turn left out of station car park, across the road to a sculpture and the church is in front just head round the church building for the entrance,

We chose this as it was close to the station and I was quite intrigued by its description. First of all the staff are all friendly and welcoming and there is definitely a sense of peace and tranquility with mood musak chanting sublety in the background. Our room was clean and adequate for three nights but probably not more than that. Breakfast was superb in a small atmospheric room. Don't expect cocktail bars, plunge pools and wellness suites because it's not that sort of place. Restaurants and bars are very close for eating out and Cadiz is quite walkable. The town goes a bit crazy at carnival time so be aware.

This basic hotel is within a building in a reasonably central location. It was (or possibly still is) a convent and there is a church attached. The sound of Gregorian chanting is played in the peaceful cloisters. The breakfast is excellent and the staff friendly. Good points Reasonably central location, although Cádiz is small so everything quite close. Lovely building Good breakfast Fairly spacious rooms Corridors look like they have been recently painted and look great The cloisters are very peaceful Disappointing things Bathroom very grotty, needs updating Shower head wouldn’t stay up (we asked if this could be fixed but it wasn’t) Only coffee provided (although we got tea and a kettle when we asked- thank you) VERY noisy….air conditioning clicking, door banging, water running Minimal toiletries provided Would I come again? Probably not- I would try and get something a bit better if I came back to Cádiz, although I probably wouldn’t come back to Cadiz as dirty (a lot of dog poo on the streets and streets smelled of pee), many empty and derelict buildings and some terrible restaurants (some good ones too)…. I would put this hotel a long the line of a UK Travel Lodge….its fine as a bed for the night but you wouldn’t sit about in the day time with a glass of wine.
