Db San Antonio Hotel + Spa All Inclusive

This hotel is definitely not 4 star worthy. 3 star is what it should be. The staff were lovely. Food and drinks were great. But the hotel was over packed and busy, which I expected as it was summer holidays but only till you get there do you find out anyone can buy a pass to the pool. Therefore the swimming pool is so busy you can’t get sun loungers and the pool is overpacked with children. Not only this the restaurants are too open to the public. So the restaurants are hugely busy at times not finding a table of 5 for our family with random bits of the restaurant closed off this was very frustrating. The rooms were okay however mine was not sound proofed and next to the stairs so was awoken at 7am to loud clanking up and down. My air-con broke and the tv would turn on when it turned on so I slept poorly. Shower didn’t drain properly. On my final night I washed some clothes and hung them to dry over night, only to find out that the water from the pool above can spill on the balconies above and then drain directly into my balcony, disgusting. Over all for 5 nights I would have payed £400 max not the outrageous £900 I payed.

Great hotel, friendly staff. Location is good. Avoid the Indians linked to hotel , 3 of us went as part of AI all of us ended up poorly, food came out cold must have been made as a batch. Saline is lovely though. Downstairs pool packed but top deck L10 for adults lovely.

Ranjib and Anis make the All Inclusive Plus lounge very welcoming. Both attentative and conscientious about their work, making sure you have the best experience. The rooms are comfortable. Speciality restaurants are good, but not the best experience at Tagine.

Just arrived back from a week in his hotel. We travelled with family ranging from 9 years to 65 years old including a couple with no children and we were very impressed how they cater for everyone. Pros: Breakfast and lunch always had good options and the food was actually really nice. We only ate in the main restaurant once but that’s our choice as we like to try different places when on holiday and also like to dine outside in the evenings. We only managed to get a sitting in the Italian and Mexican during our 7 night stay but both restaurants the food was really good. The rooftop pool was great for those with no children and lovely views. All the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, from the reception staff to the entertainment team and even the staff in the cafe. The hotel is very clean, toilets and pool were constantly being cleaned. Location was excellent, very close to beach and restaurants. Lots of daytime activities for adults and kids and the team really try hard to include everyone. Kettle in room with tea and coffee. English sockets so no need for adaptors. We were worried about the air con in the rooms after hearing some reviews but there was no need it was so cold I had to turn it down at night. You do have to make sure all doors are closed properly for the air con to work. Cons: the only downside was we couldn’t get a family of 6 in the a la carte restaurants apart for the two mentioned above (one of them we had to eat later at night to get a booking) I think they must reserve the spots for other people. The pool was very busy but I didn’t expect anything less in the school holidays. You weren’t allowed inflatables in the pool which was a shame, not that there was room anyway. Cocktails aren’t great by the pool side, never tried the ones inside so can’t comment on those. No iron in room All in all a great holiday and would return if we liked going to the same place twice however we like trying new places.

Just returned from a week at this hotel with my teenage daughter. Reading past reviews I was a little worried but to be honest I thought the hotel was fab. I don’t really look at star rating as everyone’s perspective on that is different. Our room was lovely. On second floor so could walk up the stairs. Air con was ok and kept the room at a manageable temperature. We had taken portable fans though so they helped too. Cleaned everyday and we had a little kitchen and fridge. Safe was free to use. Water machine on our floor so no need to buy water all the time. Main restaurant was pretty standard. Choice was good but did get a bit samey. There were 4 other restaurants you could book. We did the Italian and Asian. Both were really lovely. U could use some once and some twice. Had no issues booking but we did so as soon as our room was available (plan ahead). Pool is busy. But we always found space for a ball game in the main pool. Beds were ok too. A couple of days I did get down there for 7am to reserve beds as we were having pool days. Other days we didn’t fail to get beds later in the day. Reception staff were lovely. Our safe broke and I reported it and within 10 mins it was fixed! I can understand the comments made about the kids pool. It’s not ideal being up a spiral staircase and I did see lots of families struggling. Comments about the floor around the pool were being listened to. Lots of cleaning going on through the day and the addition of rubber mats in key spots. Evening entertainment wasn’t for us. But it was lovely to have so many spaces to just sit and chat and play cards but still be in the atmosphere and able to get a drink. Cafe Morac was a lovely addition too and we had free cakes in my room for my birthday. As I said I think people expect a lot from a package holiday hotel. Malta isn’t a rich country and maybe this hotel would be a good 3 star, but the people were fab and the hotel itself seemed well cared for. For what I paid I was more than happy with what I got.
