Gorgeous hotel, amazing food and staff, and on a beautiful island. Can't praise this place enough, it's in the middle of nowhere and buses are few and far between. If you want to explore, hire a car or do some excursions but if you just want to chill.....this is the place.

Arrived Saturday afternoon with 3 other couples. No welcome drink and had to take our suitcases to our own room. Not a major problem but up 2 flights of steps. Other more mature holiday makers might not find it as easy. What makes this hotel is the staff. The 4 wonderful ladies from Vietnam and the restaurant manager in particular. The rooms tired and basic. Also room service coming in your room as they knock the once, this is around 9am. We didn’t have breakfast or anything from the snack area but the main restaurant a decent choice but would be better warmer. Very secluded area and extremely peaceful. Couple of negatives packed in on the beach so you literally know everything about everybody and not enough beach towels and mattresses for sunbeds. Towels because some holiday makers like to take 3 and then not enough for everyone else. Only other negative having to wait 45 minutes longer for transfer home and although Christine was great we were very tight for time

1 hour 50 minute flight from Gatwick to Olbia with EasyJet followed by a seamless journey through the airport to meet the Tui Rep Sara who quickly divided us up into our hotel groups for the coach transfer. We were informed that the coach would be 15 minutes late! 20 mins later no show. Further information came through that we were now waiting for two passengers from the BA Heathrow flight, then we were told there had been a crash holding the coach up. Us Tui Customers were all very calm, understanding and patient. The Rep was constantly on the phone and did keep us updated as best she could. We were told the coach had at last arrived (top banana) and were then ushered outside. Sadly, it was all an illusion as the coach never did turn up. The Rep then informed us that we would need to get a taxi to the hotel at our own expense and claim back the money. Our group of 8, now a little cheesed off but still calm, suggested that perhaps it would be a reasonable request for Tui to organise and pay for our transfer! The Rep stated that this was not possible. We therefore had no option but to organise a minibus ourselves and pay the €160 fare for the 30 minute drive to the hotel. The Rep said that we’d be reimbursed via bank transfer at the hotel. We weren’t happy with this insisting on a cash refund. The poor girl, now at the end of her tether and perhaps to pacify us said “we’d get paid in cash at the hotel”. We finally arrived at Matta village some 2 hours later, obtaining a receipt for €160 from the driver. God knows what ever happened to the BA passengers… At last we were at the hotel. The girl at reception was none the wiser about the pantomime show we’d just experienced. No welcome drink on arrival, restaurant was shut, however a bottle of wine and a tasty salmon salad was waiting in our room. Great fun in the morning explaining everything to Meggie the Tui hotel rep about what happened, eventually we were reimbursed in full, but that was the whole morning of our first day used up. Not good enough Tui, please don’t let this happen again and if it does, have a robust plan “B” to get your guests to the hotel without this fuss! A positive out of a negative though, the eight of us late arrivals all gelled and we had a great time for the rest of the holiday, the weather was fantastic all week too! Collecting our passports next morning first thing, we wanted to book the wine tasting event only to be told it was fully booked (Deep joy). Our room was very nice (219) in a very quiet location with a pomegranate tree over our balcony, perfect! A very large firm bed which we found comfortable and we slept very well. The internet worked perfectly all week. The pool was lovely great once you were in, but as others have said mould and algae was clear to see. The poolside furniture and cushions were also grimy and wanted replacing. The food was good, not exceptional by any means but well presented, loved the local cheeses especially the runny gorgonzola a

Absolutely superb beautiful location excellent staff great food and very pleasant guests an absolute gem and we will return. It is quiet and peaceful and the beach is fabulous. If i had a slight grumble the room needed a bit of an update but to be honest we spent very little time in it and the fitness centre / gym needs an upgrade. Thats is however being really picky this is a first rate place and it provided us with a fantastic romantic and peaceful holiday. Been to Italy many times and it never lets you down and this quiet part of Sardinia is just dreamy

What a great hotel staff went above and beyond to look after our group of 7 people as people have said it does need a little TLC but if that puts you off don’t go.the food was good and plenty of selection to suit all our group entertainment was good and varied and personally never had a problem with the volume if you do your du diligence you will see there are things not included but that didn’t detract from what was included Linea was the entertainment queen keeping all our group entertained with various activities every day this hotel is not perfect but I wouldn’t hesitate to return having been to Mexico 16 times on holiday this was a great little change

Matta Village in Sardinia adult only is in a very quiet location within a lovely setting right on the beach. It had a beautiful swimming pool although it was not heated so it was very cold. The accommodation was comfortable and kept very clean.

Lovely location with Pine trees and sandy quiet beach, that is until the pool Gym instructor starts shouting , like a demented Dictator at a Rally, to about 6 people whom are trying to lose about 30 kgs ! far too loud if one is seeking a little peace. This also applies to the music at night and that is in the bed rooms, however it stops at 11 pm. The Staff are really hard working and all do a wonderful job. 5 Stars for them. Food average nothing to shout about , lacks imagination and very repetitive . Some of the cocktails you have to pay for ,and not cheap, this is the first time I've had to do this. The Trips out to a couple of Islands were ok but basically likes to set you down on a beach , nothing special, for a long time not so much time travelling on the boat. The other was the Ice cream and beaches. Quite honestly better to get a bus and do it yourself much cheaper and better. On the whole, I'm getting the feeling that TUI , previously First Choice, is letting their standards drop, and have travelled with them for quite some years.

We had a great holiday here . The food was outstanding and was nothing like a hotel really, it was like eating at a restaurant. The tiny dishes were perfect to try lots of different dishes. We tried several activities there and found them good. The drinks choices on AI were the only disappointment really. Would have liked to have seen more choice even if they were just their local brands.
