Hotel Van Cleef

The hotel is nicely decorated and enchanting, it has a lovely river view terrace which is a good place for a drink upon sunset. The room is spacious enough and clean, if you want a cozy and relaxing stay, this hotel is definitely a good choice.

I travel often and work in the hotel industry in NYC, and I can honestly say Hotel Van Cleef was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Enjoyed the history behind the hotel, the location of being on canal and 10 minutes walking from the center of town, and the well appointed rooms and beautiful furnishings. Best word to describe the hotel is magical. What stood out most was the service. Luxury is something that is given, but hospitality is the thoughtfulness behind the service. The staff at Van Clef understood the true essence of hospitality and it showed through their actions. My wife and I were traveling with our 14 month old baby girl and their team did everything possible to anticipate my needs before I could ask. Traveling with a little one is not easy, but they were so helpful and always there to assist when needed. For example, they asked if I needed the baby bottles and her stuffed animals cleaned if they were to get dirty. A small detail like this shows the thoughtfulness is at the forefront of their service. Special kudos to Rebecca for setting up my stay via email prior to my arrival. She helped me with the transfers and the private boat tour which left from the hotel. The suite with the canal view was worth every penny. Thank you to the staff who treated us like royalty when we were there and made our visit memorable. They gave me great local recommendations for dinner. I met the owner Frederik, who set the tone by greeting my family and I in the lobby upon arrival. He personally made sure that his team exceeded my expectations. They succeeded! Cannot recommend the hotel enough.

This is one of the best hotels, if not the best we have stayed in, and we travel widely. Terrific, seamless, warm hospitality from check in to departure. Great information about Bruges, perfect restaurant recommendations and genuinely interesting conversations. We will definitely be back…the Christmas season in Bruges sounds very tempting… thanks again to Frederic, Rebecca and Team Van Cleef for making our stay with you so very special.

Fredrick and the entire staff were fabulous! From the beautiful entry to the relaxing patio overlooking the canal, the attention to detail made this one of our favorite stays. We highly recommend this hotel!

I have been fortunate to stay at some very nice hotels as I travel but I can honestly put Hotel Van Cleef at the top of the list. Our accommodations were wonderful and were made to feel very welcome as guests of this property. I will look no further for hotel accommodations when I return.
