Hotel is adequate, everything you need and clean. Slightly worn due to flaking wallpaper and a split in the flooring around the shower. Road noise is a possible deal breaker if your at the front of the hotel and a light sleeper. Retuarant is lovely, food was great and the staff are brilliant. Nice and easy for parking and access to main roads, 3.2m from Brighton so ideal to grab an uber and enjoy an evening on the beach front.

Absolutely amazing stay from start to finish. Had to admit after looking at some reviews we were quite dubious but glad we looked above them. From the moment we got there the staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was made up with everything we needed and the food. Well what can I say it was just amazing from the dinner to the breakfast. Thank you Miller and Carter for one of the best nights away myself and my family have had.

Very comfortable room, with slight negative of a large step into bathroom within the room and if you put the light on it floods the bedroom, not good for anyone else asleep. Breakfast and dinner were good standard, but as with all miller and carter it ain't cheap, but it was good

I love this place but my experience on this occasion was let down by a couple of things. The window in room 104 was loose, didn't fit properly, was held in by one hinge and was rotting. This caused the room to be freezing. We were given another room as soon as we made the management aware, but the second room was not as nice but did the job. Staff always very pleasant and attentive. Breakfast was served lukewarm and some of it on the second day was burnt, toast, mushrooms, sausage. I would live to see bar meals as an option because dining here is expensive and there are no discounts for residents, or special offers so can be a little expensive. There's a nice Indian restaurant just 5 minutes walk away though. I will stay here again as it is the most convenient for our needs.

Went for a beer or two as it’s just around the corner from us. This was 2 weeks ago. They were having problems with the beer pumps apparently. Only had bottled beer at some expense. Would have been sensible to put a notice on the door entrance. Went for a birthday meal on the 25th September 2024, about 2 weeks after my first visit. Sat down in the restaurant and the waitress took our meal order then asked for our drinks order. 2 pints of lager and a lager shandy please was my reply. The waitress said that the beer pumps are out of order today. Really. We only have bottled beer. A notice on the door would have been very helpful. Instead we waisted our time ordering from the menu then told no draught beers. Unsurprisingly we left. Terrible customer care again.

While the inn was very quaint and old English, if you’re staying for more than one night, this may not be the place for you. Basic needs were met but not much more. Only 4 hangers in the closet and the standard room is very, very small. With 2 large suitcases and 2 people, the space was extremely tight. The room is well appointed and clean with a big step up into the bathroom which may be more difficult for older patrons. All rooms are upstairs and we had to lug our suitcases up those stairs (about 15) with no offer of help. The staff were wonderful, if you could find them. There was rarely someone at the front desk and in the morning, rarely someone behind the bar and we constantly had to wait. The steakhouse food is awesome and we found Monica absolutely delightful!

Stayed overnight when visiting friends. Paint flaking off the walls.Large cracks and hole in ceiling. Room smelt musty. Very tired and in need of refurbishment. £129 For bed and no breakfast on a weekday, not worth it.

That was some of the best steak we have ever had and the manager was wonderfully helpful with a booking extension at a time of great stress for us. Any staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and courteous. No question we would stay here again.
