The Golden Lion Inn

Just an excellent place to stay. Great location, dead centre of Bridgnorth, individually allocated parking space in the car park and dead easy to get your luggage in. The staff are friendly and full of helpful tips and guidance to get you ready to enjoy the town. We had the Golden suite - spacious, airy and with a quirky modern vibe. Breakfast was delicious and abundant, fresh cooked and served by cheerful and helpful staff. Thoroughly recommended. We'll be back for sure

Been here a few times allways been great , love the themed rooms very comfortable, like the ones at the front best something to look at , breakfast really nice , pub not bad to , parking great each room has its own parking space , also you are right in the middle of Bridgnorth centre.

Stopped as part of a tour of England and we were pleasantly surprised. Car park space reserved for each room. The room was quirky and huge . Everything in there as expected and the bonus of the coffee machine. Shower WC area functional and clean. The window needs a fix hence one star down from 5 and sometimes it would fall down in the middle of the night. No doubt this will be fixed! Also a 4 not 5 because of street noise and bin lorries at 5am that must have woken everybody in the vicinity when they empty the bottles. 5am - I think the hotel should take issue with the council. Breakfast to order was exceptionally good. Overall very good and not over priced. Would recommend it as a good place to stay if on a budget esp with the breakfast included. Nice pub as well everybody very friendly.

A very nice B&B in the heart of high town, Bridgenorth. A perfect base for our golf break. The area has a large number of pubs and a couple restaurants too. High town is the busier area at the weekend and quieter in the week. The Golden Lion is one of the more popular pubs. A great looking traditional pub that is really very charming. There are only a few rooms, ours was very well equipped, clean and had a designated parking space. Good communication from the host prior to arrival. A hearty breakfast served by friendly staff really topped the stay. If there was a room, we’d have stayed another night.

This is a great place to stay , drink and eat and we stayed two nights as a group .The rooms were very comfortable ,and especially the staff were great , helpful and nothing was too much trouble .we are definitely staying again and looking forward to it .

Nice place, allocated parking and right in the centre - very easy to find. Bar lady was a bit short when I asked to order another drink but it was very late. A really enjoyable stay, the room was quirky and clean, and the breakfast was hotter that the sun and enormous! Happily stay again if passing through, and have recommended to a friend.

We arrived and parked up, we entered and asked if we had parked in the right space. The girl replied ‘I don’t have a f*****g clue, I haven’t worked here long’. We went up to our room and found- The bedding chucked back over as if it hadn’t been changed Chunks of cheese around the bed A large number of black flakes all down one side of the bed on the carpet Crumbs on the bed side table Empty wrapper on the bedside table Bits around the bin on the floor Dirty tray with coffee on the coffee machine Tea stained breakfast order forms and no pen Dirt in the shower tray and down the side Poo in the toilet Wee and a suspect hair all over the toilet seat We literally felt sick. We went back downstairs and the girl text the landlady but could not move us room as they were fully booked. She asked us to go out and she would get a cleaner in while we weren’t there. Hours passed and no phone call to let us know. So I phoned, the room was cleaned. On arrival back to the hotel, the landlady never even came to apologise, never checked everything was ok. The bar maid made some comment insinuating that we were fussy. We went back up and it had been cleaned but still not to the standard that a hotel should offer. Also see attached the photo of the blind taken on the second return to the room. Sums up the lack of cleanliness and how often it happens. I’ve never stayed anywhere so filthy and with such a huge lack of customer service.

Expected better. Room not as nice as photos on website showed. Bathroom could have been cleaner. An extremely squeaky bed, but great pillows. Excellent location for town. Only draw back is the noise at night, it's amongst alot of pubs and cafes. All with pavement seating . I'd recommend ear plugs if you want to sleep before midnight. There is alot of road noise. Woken abruptly about 5am by the recycling vehicle collecting what sounded like glass bottles. Breakfast wasn't the quality other reviewers had given. I think they are between chefs. The toast and black pudding were beyond being able to be eaten. Hopefully a chef is found soon.

Had a great two nights in the Golden suite. Room very clean bathroom very clean Breakfast great choices and very tasty. All the staff we interacted were friendly and efficient. Ales were excellent as was the cheese cobs. The noise didn't bother us it was nice to be in the centre of a busy town centre with loads of life
