Giving a star rating for this hotel is very difficult. The hotel looks very nice, our room was great, the staff were very helpful and when I ordered some extra items for our arrival (wine, flowers, cake and fruit) they did a perfect job. Also on the plus side is the coast path (at beach level) that runs to villages to the right and left of the hotel. The walks, particularly to the right hand side, were the best bits of our stay. It is a shame that there were so many things, that on their own may seem small, but add up to spoil things. Only one restaurant open and the food was only average most of the time. Evening meal time was restricted to between 7pm and 9pm and I wouldn't want to try to get food when the hotel was full because to layout of the serving area is so cramped. Water at the evening meal had to be bought. The one bar that was open was more like a canteen area and not a relaxing space for the evening. There was nowhere at the hotel to buy food during the day, or anything else at any time (no shop on site). The Jet2 information book was kept in a cupboard behind the reception desk along with the book exchange, (neither item of which we found out until the Jet2 rep came 5 days into our 7 night stay). There was a notice in the room stating that the fridge was only for minibar items and should not be used for guests items. To top it all, there was a 10% service charge on all (hotel price) drinks (including water at the evening meals) and a space on the bill to add a tip. I know there are warnings in the information before you book that it is about a one and a half hour transfer from the airport at Split to the hotel and that there are a lot (and I mean a lot) of steps on the site, but it is something to bear in mind.
