We stayed here in September 2023 to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived, there were some minor inconveniences that we noticed immediately, such as no batteries in the remotes so we couldn't use the TVs (we tried the apps to no avail), and the toilet seat being fitted way too far back. For these issues, I called the management team and was advised to go to Poundland to buy some batteries, and that they would pay for dinner for us to the value of £20. I could overlook the noise from the karaoke bar just downstairs, with enthusiastic but sadly talentless patrons, barely reduced by the single glazing. I could overlook the missing batteries and having to fix the toilet seat myself as a promised engineer never showed up. What I cannot overlook is the rest of the place, unfortunately. The bubbles in the jacuzzi didn't work. The heated towel rack didn't work. The extractor hood over the hobs didn't work - or maybe it did, there's no way of knowing, as there was no on switch, and it had also been so inexpertly attached that there were sharp, protruding screws around the casing. The floor was uneven to the point that it created tripping hazards, including a carpet rail sticking a couple of inches into the air. The plastering looked like it had been applied with a boot, there was bare wiring on the walls, and the smoke detectors had been removed (presumably by a previous guest who was frustrated with the lack of ventilation for the cooker). The round tables provided were too small to be useful and were so rickety that we didn't feel comfortable using them at all. I brought these concerns to the management team and they were very dismissive - they also conveniently forgot about reimbursing me for the batteries, paying for lunch - or even returning my £100 deposit as I had allegedly damaged the shower mixer (which we hadn't used at all). We're still waiting to see the bill of works from that, in fact. We also complained via *******, and were offered £15 compensation by the owners - but only if we didn't leave a review(!) I attach photos of the apartment to demonstrate the total absence of luxury. One to avoid as greedy, disingenuous management lied to us about the meal and (we suspect) withheld our deposit because we fully intended to leave a review warning others not to stay here.
