"Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The only disappointment was that I had requested a little surprise for my wife's birthday, but it did not happened, not sure if the booking agent didn't convey this request. When I entered our room, there's no decor or even a birthday card (the least I'm expecting). It was during the Barbecue Buffet dinner (Friday 22/8/25) that the chef asked me if the buffet spread was good or if we had any special request meal that I told him that we were here to celebrate my wife's birthday, and he went out of his way to surprise my wife with a birthday cake and song. We would like to extend our greatest gratitude to the F&B team as well as the concierge team for the wonderful service."

"Warm welcome by the team upon arrival. Full details on amenities is not given like we can actually dine and use the pool at sister hotel which walking distance away - hotel indigo. Joining member allows us to have 20% discount on food but not applicable to takeaways:( Late check out is not mentioned, I saw it in my email and ask them about it. Called me on the day of check out to remind me of check out at 12pm when they should told me I am entitled to late check out till 2pm. After 12pm, room card not working and WiFi not working anymore. Come on.. I am still at the hotel premises. Food selection is sufficient although the food at holiday inn is really not fantastic. Staffs at strawbella and kids club are really welcoming, warm and friendly! Highly recommended for families for a short getaway."

"Service staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Aircon was strong enough to combat the heat. Loved walking along the crystal bay area for a chill and tranquil stroll. Didn’t have much expectations for breakfast but felt that it was decent - sufficient selections. It was also easy to contact the reception via whatsapp and for room service etc."

"Have stayed in at least more than 20hotels in my lifetime, this is by far the most beautiful and serene hotel ever. Splendid lush landscape with multiple seatings that allow one to relax while immerse with the landscape around. This place just let you reset your busy lifestyle. Love the multiple pools for kids to explore and kids club to entertain the kids. The rooms are superb and clean. Staff are also very courtesy, attentive and hardworking. Everyone walks around with a smile. Bicycles are littered around the estate that allow you to grab and go (the place is quite huge, so a bicycle actually helps alot!). Wifi access is superb too, everywhere we go, we got wifi access (better than our esim!) Guess the only let down is the pillows that seems abit too soft and the food choice is quite limited and not the best tasting, also they are quite expensive. But well, the hotel rooms, staff, amenities are enough to distract us off these small negligent negativity. As such, still 5 stars from us! "A Nice ambience relaxed resort. Room looks exactly like the posted photos. Got a small kitchen. Quiet on weekdays. Shower water pressure is strong and service crews are warmth and friendly. Arrival pickup and drop off saves a lot of hassle. Far from city. If you have a few days in Bintan, you can book a private one day tour which will bring you to various sightseeing spots. Guests from Cassia can use swimming pool and spa facilities at Angsana resort. Breakfast at Angsana Resort - Lotus, quite a good spread. Lunch at Vista within it's own premise - fried kway teow is delicious and dinner at Xana, western grill meat and seafood near beach - Pizza and Lamb chop is great (if served on hotplate will be perfect cause food went cold pretty fast 😅). Cassia has also some activities set each day, guests can sign up with friendly front desk. Next to the swimming pool, there is a game corner, for playing chess and snooker. Also a turtle pool not far away, children will be delighted to see turtles swimming. Great place to stay for a few days."

"We visited the resort for my husband's birthday for a 2-night, 3-day stay, which was amazing. We stayed in a rainforest sea view villa, which was incredibly peaceful and serene. Every moment of our trip was thoroughly enjoyable. The spa experience was exceptional. As vegetarians, we were initially concerned about food options, but to our delight, we had a full-course meal at the Thai restaurant, which exceeded our expectations. Everything was perfect—a 10/10 experience."

"The hotel offers a fantastic stay with friendly staff and modern amenities. Rooms are clean, spacious, and well-equipped. Prime location near main attractions and public transport. Breakfast buffet was varied and delicious. Minor noise from the street but manageable. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers."

"This could be a 5* thing, for now it feels more like 4 to 4.5 * for me. Let me explain. First of all, there are many really big upsides for the Nirwana Resort: - The hotel is in a wonderful location. The beach directly in front of the hotel is beautiful, however if you explore a little further, the beach right next (connected to some rentable mini-houses) is also part of the Nirwana area and even cleaner and more inviting for a direct swim. - The room was even nicer than anticipated via the photos. Everything was tastefully designed, clean and room-service did a great job daily. The hotel itself is abut 35 years old, very close to the sea and constantly exposed to salty winds. It's just amazing that they managed to maintain the open-corridors in such a great condition. There's a lot of wooden features (which look really good imho). - The staff is friendly and helpful. You will find plenty of activities if that is your thing. Now to the kinda neutral part: Some of the in-hotel facilities were not available during our stay. For example to get to the gym you had to switch to another building a few hundret meters away. You still get everything you need, so it's not really a complaint - more a thing of convenience but since all the surrounding area is pretty nice I would recommend exploring a bit anyway. The two main negative factors were: - It's a very secluded resort and there is no normal supermarket or anything similar nearby for basic daily needs like water or what-have-you. This means you will need to pay mega-premiums. 1 L of water costs over 100k Rupias or about 7 to 8 USD. A small bottle of coke is about $3.5. Same goes for all other snacks, drinks and foods. They are very overpriced, just because you don't have a choice. Another example: A pizza + a ”gourmet” burger were close to $50. I wouldn't even complain if it was really ”gourmet”. However not even close: You can eat both, it's not terrible but it's very basic, the pizza too dry and kinda small, the burger the most boring I had in years and not great beef at all. Same goes for all the other food we had in the in-house restaurant. It's not bad but every dish feels like something is a bit off or missing or just very basic. Especially for the premium price you pay this seems not right. There are two more restaurants within ~1km walking distance: An indian restaurant. Pricing is on the higher side but more reasonable than the indoor restaurant. Tandoori chicken was over-spiced (not hot just too strong taste with nothing to compliment it) and very dry/boring. The infamous butter chicken was great, though. I would recommend the ”Spicy restaurant” (4 stars) but make sure you get something with sauce. And then there is a seafood restaurant. It's really pricy (especially when compared to seafood in Batam for example) but you get an incredible fresh and well seasoned fish/crab/prawn selection that makes it worth 100% to visit. Also the view is fantastic. I actually would rate this whole experience 5 stars - if you would get the basics (water, coke, some smaller snacks) for a fair price; right now this part feels a bit like a rip-off. Also, local taxi service is a bit over-priced, same goes for activities. I really don't mind spending more, but there needs to be a balance where you don't feel taken advantage of. If you don't care about that, I would fully recommend the stay at Nirwana Hotel."

"As a first time solo traveler, I would say I did not have anything planned the moment I reached the resort. But my goal for this trip was mainly a getaway from everyday city life and it did reach my purpose. There are activities that can be in and around the resort. First time tried kayaking and archery. All the staffs were super friendly. From reception, activities, restaurant staff until check out. I went during an off peak season, so even passing by a staff at the lobby of the Lotus Cafe, I was shocked that I was greeted by the staff with my name."

"This trip was with 8 friends. During our stay at Doulos Phos The Ship Hotel in Bintan, and really enjoying the experience. The hotel is on a restored old ship, which makes it very unique. The room is clean and cozy, the porthole windows give it a special feel. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Ms. Winda. The check-in process was smooth. We asked the hotel to prepare a small surprise for two friends who were having birthdays. There’s a small museum onboard that tells the story of the ship, and the deck has a nice view of the sea, great for relaxing. Breakfast is simple but good, and the overall vibe is peaceful and quiet. If you want to swim, remember to bring a swimsuit. It is less than 5-minute drive from the Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal and the hotel. If you need the hotel to arrange transportation, you need to inform the hotel customer service staff in advance, which is free of charge. It’s a great place if you’re looking for something unique and relaxing."
