Best Western Plus the Connaught Hotel Spa

We specifically booked this hotel for our anniversary and they decorated the bed with petals which was a nice touch. The hotel itself was very nice but the rooms were a bit outdated and the toilet was dirty. There were quite a few downsides which did ruin our short stay. We booked this hotel specifically for the spa facilities mainly the jacuzzi pool but this was out of order before we got there and we were not informed of this otherwise we would’ve booked elsewhere and it wasn’t fixed for our entire stay. Swimming pool was decent but not the cleanest as i felt dirt on pool floor. On our last night we ran out of water and my wife is pregnant so i went to the night porter and asked for a bottle of water which they provide complimentary daily but he said he couldn't give me one and he could sell one from the bar, which i found ridiculous. The room didnt have a fridge so we couldnt buy any water and keep it cool. Parking was £10 a day which I believe should be included in the stay. Hotel staff were friendly other than that but I would probably look elsewhere next time. For the price we paid I did expect a lot more from the hotel.

Nice hotel, limited time for kids allowed in swimming pool

Booked this last minute and stayed in a room with a balcony. Could not fault a single thing apart from the lack of power to the shower, but overall the hotel was really clean, airy, inviting, staff were all friendly and helpful and always smiling. Breakfast was great, we would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for 2 nights last weekend, i was pleasantly surprised with the hotel, the room in the lodge was of a good size and comfortable bed, very good air conditioning although it did make a noise but was very effective as it was a very hot weekend. The shower didn't have much pressure. We had parking included and managed to find a space both times we went out in the car. But there were quite a few spaces that were unable to be used as there were posts up, not sure why. Really liked the outside seating areas, the courtyard and the garden by the bar, both very well kept areas, with background music all well known songs but very mellow, seems to be quite popular in the last few hotels we have visited. Hotel is conveniently placed to get out and about to explore the sights, we visited Monkey World, Durdle Door and the Blue Pool. We had a meal on the Saturday night, was nice and served very hot, which is always nice. We were served at the bar by Josh and our food was delivered by Tom. Both were very friendly and well presented and welcoming, friendly. Breakfast was of a good standard , plenty of choice and frequently topped up when was getting low. Location was perfect to get to the seafront, Would be very happy to recommend and stay at this hotel again if we were to come back to Bournemouth.

We had a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday at the Connaught. We sat in the sunshine in the courtyard which was beautiful. The food was really good and all of the staff were very helpful. Particularly Wendy, who was so friendly and accommodating to us. We’d definitely come back again.
