We stayed at Tapatio Springs on the July 4th weekend, checking in on Friday. We chose this resort because it was near the venue for my sister’s dinner reception the following day. Our key didn’t work and our room was old and musty. The dinner buffet was expensive but tasty. We decided to listen the the live music outside and no one would take our drink order. We decided to walk back inside the restaurant to order and then a waitress came outside and told us we should have checked in with the hostess. I explained that we had reservations, had eaten the buffet and didn’t know the outdoor section required a separate reservation. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri , but she said they couldn’t make a strawberry daiquiri because they didn’t have a blender. She also asked for our room number. I told her we weren’t going to charge to our room and she said it was a new requirement. We felt very unwelcome and will never stay there again.

Tapatio is always a great place to stay and bring your family! Always nice to be able to make a family vacay on a business trip!! Rooms are great and the Pool is fabulous!!!

Set your expectations correctly. This is really a 2, maybe 3 star, hotel. The room was clean, beds fine, newish paint in bedroom. AC doesn’t cool well. Bathroom not touched since original construction, but functional, except we did not have a shower curtain. Got a great laugh from that. The grounds are nice. Pool areas have been redone. Clubhouse very nice and expansive. Live music in the outdoor bar/restaurant that we enjoyed. Met several kind staff in Cascada. Service and food there both great. Pool bar staff was gruff and inhospitable. It was abundantly clear they did not want to serve anyone despite the massive revenues that could have been spent by the dozen families wanting to use the pool. Really sealed it when a storm rolled through and many of us took cover under the patio only to have a whistle blown, be yelled at to leave, and forced to run through the rain and lightning with our children back to the room. After it cleared, they refused to reopen the pool for 30-40 minutes (well beyond the stated 20 for their policy). Entire experience reeked of “we don’t want to work anymore today”. Disappointing when you have driven four hours that day to get there. If traveling on a budget, this place can be an okay option if your expectations are set correctly, but otherwise, I recommend going elsewhere.

The staff are great, they are always willing to assist you with a smile. Rooms are big and roomy. Family and adult-only pools are nice and relaxing.

The resort is beautiful but the rooms really need some updating. The paint in the bathroom was pealing off the wall. Bathroom was very outdated.

The grounds, golf club, and reception area were satisfactory, but the rooms appear to be from the 1990s and are in dire need of renovation. We also had several bugs in our room--we killed 2 spiders and 3 roaches (not what I was expecting for the price tag). I likely will never stay there again, nor recommend anyone else stay there.
