Hilton Garden Inn Cincinnati Blue Ash

The lobby is nice, the room was clean, bathtub worn but again, clean. But there were dead roaches on the floor in the ice machine room. We got ice from another floor and it tasted terrible. And the breakfast was not very good. The man behind the counter was super nice but eggs were inedible. The muffins were soggy. And the way they do breakfast is really weird. It’s not included with your room, you have to pay extra, but it’s just a buffet right out in the lobby so you basically have to get permission to eat from the front desk guy who hovers nearby the whole time watching to make sure people pay. We paid extra for breakfast with our reservation and both days he said we didn’t and I had to ask him to look again which took a while. It’s unnecessarily complex for a hotel buffet breakfast. They really should include breakfast like most hotels do now.

I was at hotel breakfast when I saw the employees with the silverware that we just ate with, then wiping it with a napkin and used no water. Then rapping it back up and handing it out. That’s disgusting🤮

Made a mistake. If your read above HGI Midtown has been out go to for a couple years. Family moved out this way and we switched. User error! Started with check in. Had some communication difficulty due to shrieking preschoolers in the lobby playing ? cops and robbers? Stay was all on points, but finally came clear they were advance charging me $150 'incidentals'. 10+ years bouncing between Diamond and Gold, never heard of this but whatever. to elevator. Right hand elevator car. floor 3 button would not work. This elevator clearly programmed to be primary as it always came first. Another guest saw me pushing floor 5 to get that car to leave so I could call the other smirked, 'yesterday neither car would stop on 3'. I can't confirm that. Did notice no elevator maintenance certificate in the car (either car). Is this a requirement? IDK. Reported this, now, 3 days later no diff. Wife is recently post op knee surgery, so stairs were out. Since I was $150 in the hole, maybe, bought family dinner @ restaurant. Both toilets in the men's clogged. Yuck. To room. Right hand light fixture in bathroom (which needs a serious upgrade) had some black sticky stuff on it, like a soda bottle had sprayed, or something. Last straw: stay was Friday to Monday. Sunday @ 12:30 PM both physical card keys and my digital key quit. Front desk: "there appears to be some problem with the cards". Me "ya think?" Can't remember when I first hit Gold, but had to be 2015 or so. This was a first. Just. Stay. Away. For us, back to Midtown, or another brand.

Smoke smell

Didn't get room refreshed without requesting it after 1st night. Also, toilet tissue was not refilled even when it was obviously very low.
