I have stayed at Jumers many times in the past 30+ years, and just returned for the first time since 2013. I know that they are trying, but I was really dissapointed. Staff was very nice, and they’ve really tried to clean the place up, but unfortunately, it needs a LOT of updating and what was once a nice change of pace for a hotel now feel a lot more like a bad movie when you enter your room. The carpet in my room had bare spots where I could see through to the padding. The TV remote did not work, although they did fix it the next day. The shower, although nice and clean, barely had any water pressure whatsoever. The furniture was old and had damages surfaces throughout. I will say though, the AC worked great and the bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was held in a small room room off of the lobby, which has a small set of narrow stairs down into it and a single door entrance, which makes it impossible for people to come in and out at the same time so there’s constantly someone waiting to come in and out of the room. There appeared to be multiple wedding parties at the hotel, so there was loud partying in the rooms on my floor the night I arrived, and breakfast was difficult to get into because of so many people and so few tables available, I ended up just going and purchasing breakfast somewhere else. Again, the staff was helpful and very friendly and the conditions of the hotel were not their fault, but I have for sure stayed there for the last time.
