Business trip and was comfortable. Could do with extra pillows though. A really nice breakfast was included for us which we both enjoyed. Nice selection of items available and friendly team at breakfast serving guests. Overall a pleasant stay

Avoid avoid avoid, hotel says closed but is actually a migrant hotel. On arrival a security guard flew out and prevented us entering. were then threatened by a group and told the hotel was closed. Ibis should be ashamed this was once a lovely hotel.

Absolutely disappointed and upset. My husband and myself stayed at this hotel alot during the start of our long distance relationship and decided to stay here for the night of our wedding reception in the UK (Married abroad) Sadly they cancelled a week before the event with no reason or explanation and are uncontactable. We keep trying to contact and email but no one is getting back to us. AVOID THIS HOTEL. Truly upset and devastated.

Booked this hotel 6 months ago via *********** for my wife, son, his wife and myself. We were going to see Bruce Springsteen at Villa Park. I paid the £250 in full. Two days before our scheduled arrival I received the email below. Unfortunately, ibis Styles Birmingham Hagley Road informed us that they can no longer accommodate you due to closure . *********** sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience and distress that this matter has brought to you I have tried to contact the hotel, only to get an answer machine. This has left me and my family with no accommodation as many people will be attending the concert and the test match is on, everywhere is full This is a disgrace, spoilt our trip and is totally unprofessional. I urge you NOT to use this hotel.

DON'T TRUST THAT YOU HAVE A SECURE BOOKING! Our booking was cancelled by the hotel 2 weeks before we were due to stay. No explanation given. When we tried phoning to find out why our phonecall was never picked up by Ibis Styles: the call just rang out for ages then was disconnected. Now we have to re-book, but the choices in the area are far less several weeks on and the prices far more.

Hotel booking cancelled without any notice by email despite having booked months ago. Apparently the hotel has been closed for refurbishment, now left having to figure out how to get a refund. The way this has been handled has been very poor and would not give me any confidence that any other booking with this hotel group was secure even though confirmed.

On 14 June I checked-in online from a link sent in an email from IBIS. I arrived at the hotel on 15 June for my booked stay and the front door was locked with a sign appended to it saying "Hotel Closed". I went in through the back door and found various members of staff more shocked than I was as they turned up for work to find that they had lost their jobs. There were no systems available to check what was going on. When I checked my email I found an email notifying me that my stay (that I had already checked in for) had been cancelled. Yes, things happen, but at least provide better communication for customers.

CANCELLED MY BOOKING 72 HOURS BEFORE I WAS DUE TO STAY HERE. (Due to stay Tuesday 20th June 2023. Cancelled on me via email at 22.45pm Saturday 17th June 2023) Also stating the hotel had PERMANENTLY CLOSED AS OF Thursday 15th JUNE 2023! Absolutely disgusted by this, especially as I had booked to stay here due to its close proximity of the Birmingham MRI centre. This booking was NOT for pleasure. This booking was also not made to just stay nearby after having a (PRIVATELY PAID FOR AND NECESSARY May I add) MRI session but also to avoid my partner having to drive back for 4 hours after having already driven 4 hours to get there in the morning! Absolutely disgusting. NO EXPLANATION GIVEN. Told to contact *********** ref a refund! I am now faced with having to find alternate accommodation at the last minute and having to spend even more money on doing so. I AM TAKING THIS FURTHER. ABSOLUTELY APPALLINGLY UNACCEPTABLE. I WANT MY MONEY BACK IMMEDIATELY.

Avoid. Booked months ago and paid. Email cancelling 48 hours before and then one suggesting it was being refurbished and closed. Still haven't got my money back. Having to go through Accor group to obtain a refund as no communication from the shisters at the hotel.

Only given 1 star as I had to. Just received an email today advising my booking for 6 adults on 4th July has been cancelled. Absolutely fuming as haven't got long to sort out alternative & prices are double what we paid. Calls to the hotel are immediately disconnected! While writing this have had a response that states hotel is closed from the 15th June for urgent refurbishment!! DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL

A smile from the young ladies on Reception would have made me feel more welcome! The room, though small, was adequate, but the only 2 power points in the room were next to the bed. So I had to move the hospitality tray from the shelf where I found it (nowhere there to plug in the kettle!) In the bathroom the mirror light didn't work nor did the plug in the washbasin. My room 123 on the first floor overlooked the car park at the front and the very busy Hagley Road. I didn't have the continental breakfast at the Ibis, but went down the road for a full English at the Duck Beefeater.

I stayed here because it was less costly than city centre on a Saturday. The bus ride was short and cost about £2.00 for a single. Check in was great and staff and service were lovely and all smiles. The room was OK. Although I was on the side facing the road the window worked well to block the sound. I thought ibis styles was somehow better than Ibis but I'm not sure of the difference. Rooms are small and I was very glad I was on my own trying to navigate around my bed. The shower is also small but everything worked. The bus was also quite frequent.

I was impressed with the checking in service and cleanliness of the room! The shower was spot on too! More powerful than other high street hotels! Unfortunately no fridges in the room but for the price you pay it’s excellent for an overnight stay
