Royal Azur Thalassa

We really struggled with the service here. I told them I was getting married and I have family staying with them as well as family scattered at other nearby hotels. Royal Azur is the only hotel that would not cooperate with us to allow guests into the hotel. We were stopped multiple times at the front gate and the staff in the front desk would not accommodate our needs. Weddings are stressful as it is, however, the hotel did not alleviate any of that and added more levels of stress. I will not be coming back here.

Food options at breakfast and dinner were decent. We are glad we went for the half board option. Desserts were really nice. Free access to indoor heated pools were really good and jacuzzi. Great view from our bedroom with two balconies. ATM and money exchange was available at the hotel. Corner shops and food shops also nearby. Evening entertainment bit loud. Beautiful view of seafront and walkable to beach with unlimited drinks. Spacious rooms and quiet. Sadly bedsheets were dirty did request for them to be changed but were still bubbly and very uncomfortable to sleep in. Pillows were too soft. Carpets a bit run down in hotel and smell of cigarettes in corridors. Requested iron three times and didnt get it till next day. Any additional water bottles for the room we were told had an extra charge. Decent hotel for a short stay.

Very Disappointing Stay — Not 5-Star at All We’ve just come back from the Royal Azure in Hammamet and sadly it was far from the 5-star experience it advertises. One big positive — Zabiar, the Guest Relations Manager, was fantastic. She was professional, caring and did everything she could to help us. Unfortunately, the rest of the hotel fell far short. The hotel is run down and dirty. There are fewer than 50 sunbeds for over 500 guests, and most are covered in black dirt or mould. If you want a drink at the pool bar, good luck — the staff are rude and aggressive. I avoided them all week after asking the pool waiter for a drink once, only to watch him run off after inappropriately touching a young girl and then refusing to do his job. Most activities take place in the adjoining 4-star hotel, which is just as shabby and badly maintained. The TUI rep on site was polite but told us she could only help Polish guests — she even said she wished she could help but her hands were tied. How can that be acceptable? please also be aware, the hotel states it has activies on, a spa and a gym but it doesnt, most are closed/no one turns up to run the activity/ not included in the 'all inclusive' Our room was spacious but filthy. When we arrived, the bedding was stained yellow and the throw pillows clearly hadn’t been cleaned — I had to ask twice for fresh sheets. The bathroom had black mould in the shower and on the pull-down blind. The “fresh” towels we got daily were also stained. Cleaning was minimal — drink splashes on the wall from before we arrived were never cleaned, plus broken light switches, flickering bulbs, crumbling paint and sloppy repairs made it feel very neglected. The worst part was the behaviour of many of the male staff. They were consistently rude, dismissive and spoke down to us — especially to the women in our group. Basic requests were treated like a nuisance and their attitude was shockingly unprofessional. Only a few were friendly — some restaurant staff, the beach bar team, lifeguards and of course Zabiar. This hotel badly needs a deep clean, proper maintenance and serious training for staff — starting with how to treat paying guests with basic respect. I really hope the management reads this and seriously reviews how their male staff behave. We’re in 2025 — you do not speak to women, or anyone, with such open disrespect. This is shamefull as the main pool area looks stunning at night but the whole place is falling appart in the true light of day
