We originally stayed in a large corner room, but there was municipal construction outside at night and the noise made it impossible to sleep. The front desk was very good and helped me look at other rooms. They also made a room card for me so that I could feel which room was better. The service was excellent. However, the soundproofing in this old hotel is not very good. You can hear people talking in the next room, as well as the sound of toilets flushing and chairs being pulled out, which disturbs your sleep.

It’s just okay and nothing special. It won’t win awards for the aesthetics and the room is so small I don’t know how I’d manage if there were two of us, it’s a tight squeeze. Staff are hit and miss some are friendly and helpful and others seemed to have an attitude. Location is great and it’s close enough to everything you’ll need in Bergen. You can hear a lot of noise from the room, chairs scraping on floors and chat from other rooms so bring white noise! View from room of harbour great if you get a top floor.
