We were met by polite and efficient staff who could converse in English. We were given a tour of the place when we checked in. There were video games, manga, eating and Onsen recommendations, free self serve water, soft drinks, coffee, tea, cocoa and corn soup in the common area. Bicycles, indoor and outdoor slippers are free to use. Free parking is available on site. Our en-suite family room was very spacious, 2 double beds in the living room/ kitchen and a separate room with 2 single beds. Everything was very clean and the beds were firm and comfortable. No check out procedure required. There’s Don Quijote about 2 buildings away. I’m definitely coming here again when I next visit!!!

The location of the hotel is very good, right next to Beppu Station; I arrived by direct bus from Fukuoka Airport, the fare is 3250, and I got off the bus and walked for 7-8 minutes, but it took three hours on the road; Hotel mini single room with double bed. The hotel has a hot spring bath which is very comfortable. The water in the room is also from the hot spring ~ Breakfast is okay, I can eat enough, but it’s too early~ Let’s have some snacks in the evening…there are convenience stores and yakiniku restaurants nearby, so it’s very lively More than 400 a night is still pretty good~

You need to contact the website customer service one day in advance to receive a confirmation number before you can enter the hotel. After arriving at the hotel, you need to enter information at the door and give the room password. The room is so big and comfortable that you can wash and dry clothes. It is worth recommending the hotel. The only drawback is that the hotel does not have a hot spring bath.

Excellent stay, room is very spacious , breakfast is very sorted of Japanese options, onsen is really good and comfortable . The location is quite convenient just in front of the train station, less than 2 minutes on foot. Fully worth for families and solo travelers .

For those driving, please note that there are limited parking lots behind the hotel building. If it's full, you'll need to park at the multi-story car park beside the hotel, which doesn't come with a lift. Several convenience stores are located nearby the hotel. Overall, the check-in experience was smooth. However, the wait for the lift is quite lengthy, as there are only three lifts serving all customers. It took me 10 minutes to go down during peak hours.

Really enjoyed this unique hotel that has a mix of art, onsen, great views and decent food. The room (419) was not luxurious but was well designed, the balcony overlooked the extraordinary landscape that is Beppu, the greatest feature was the semi open-air onsen bath facilitated by the floor to ceiling windows, connected to the generous deck space. It was fun to walk around the gallery space and admire the interesting architecture, color palettes, and exhibits championing Beppu culture, landscape, flora, fauna etc. Sitting in the Peak restaurant for dinner, I was amused that one of the waitstaff was a robot that ferried food and empty dishes back and forth. Dinner was laid-back, had a window side seat that allowed me to enjoy the city glitter below. My stay here was at a fraction of another Beppu hotel on this trip, in many ways I enjoyed this place more and would not hesitate to come back.

We booked the Sora western room type, which was described as having two double beds and three futon beds. However, upon arrival, I didn't see any futon beds in the room nor were they offered. In terms of service, I expected a better introduction to the rooms given the price I am paying. We received a very simple introduction to the common area, but didn't get a room tour showing where things are located, which Yukata to wear indoors and outdoors, etc. I've paid a similar price for another onsen hotel where we received a much better reception upon arrival. We did ask for breakfast in the room for more privacy, and while we were able to do that for half the price at other hotels in Fukuoka, the staff didn't seem to understand when we asked about it. Overall, the amenities and room are really good, but service-wise, it's hit or miss.

After a busy day of exploring, returning to such a comfortable space was a true delight. And oh, the breakfast! Absolutely delicious. Each morning, I looked forward to a delightful spread of Japanese delights that tantalized my taste buds and left me feeling energized for the day ahead. It was a wonderful introduction to Japanese cuisine. Now, let's talk about the onsen – an absolute highlight of my stay. The soothing hot springs provided a tranquil retreat where I could unwind and relax amidst the serene surroundings. It was an experience I'll cherish for a long time. One of the things I loved most about Dormy Inn Oita was its convenient location near the JR Station. This made it incredibly easy to explore the local area and find delicious dining options for dinner. It was like having the best of Oita right at my doorstep! During my stay, there was an unexpected earthquake, but I was so impressed by how the staff handled the situation. They kept everyone informed and checked in regularly to ensure everyone felt safe and comfortable. Their kindness and professionalism truly made a difference during a challenging time. And let me tell you about the incredible assistance I received when my car ran out of battery. The front desk staff went above and beyond to help me out, contacting the necessary services and ensuring everything was sorted out quickly and efficiently. It was such a relief to have their support. In conclusion, my stay at Dormy Inn Oita was nothing short of amazing. From the warm hospitality to the comfortable accommodations and delicious breakfast, every aspect exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to return and make more wonderful memories at this fantastic hotel. Dormy Inn will always hold a special place in my heart.

Although the location is some distance from Yufuin Station, the environment is very comfortable and it is a very Japanese-style accommodation. There is about an hour of private hot spring bathing time in the evening. This arrangement is too friendly for people who don’t like public hot spring bathing! The owner and proprietress of the B&B are also very kind. They will explain all the facilities and arrangements clearly when checking in, and will also give us a printed hand-drawn map of the surrounding restaurants for our reference. They are really considerate and warm. He will also take us on a short tour of the shared areas of the B&B. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to use their tea room this time. I really like the small message book in the room. It contains small sharings and feelings written by different guests who have stayed here before. I quietly looked at the stories they wrote. Although I couldn't understand some of them, it was really warm!

We booked 2x Japanese rooms for 3 nights, over the rugby period. Obviously all hotels were charging a premium, but having booked 12 months in advance, at a cost of virtually £2,000 (excluding breakfast and dinner), I expected the hotel to be pretty good. The staff were very pleasant, but the communication was a problem - appreciate that this is our fault as much as theirs! The rooms were very shabby in our opinion, the furniture was badly marked and it didn't seem very clean. The worst problem was the smell in one of the rooms though, the staff told us it was from the tatami matting, but it clearly wasn't, as the other room had the same floorcovering and didn't smell. We ended up thinking it was the drains - but it was very unpleasant. The bathroom was pretty basic, and not well maintained - dirty grout around the tub etc. We stayed at 5 other hotels in Japan, and generally the standard was as expected - this was the only disappointment when considering cost vs. quality. The futons were more comfortable that I had expected - I slept really well.
