We spent 11 nights at this fantastic hotel. The staff in all areas of the hotel went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Reception, bar, restaurant, chefs, cleaners, pool guys - all of you are amazing! We came with our 2 kids (8 and 13). The views are gorgeous and you step right on to the beautiful beach where you can hire sun beds, body boards (The kids had a surf lesson too!). There are a few bars along the beach where you can grab drinks and food. The hotel itself is beautiful and the pool area is lovely. We thought the food was amazing - Indian, Sri Lankan and a good mix of other stuff three times a day. Fantastic breakfast selection. I have read the reviews regarding the hotel being 'tired' - this is not something we particularly noticed or classed as cause for concern. We would go back in a heartbeat! Highly recommend a day trip to Udawalawe Nature reserve to see the elephants. River cruise on the Madu River and fishing on Bentota River. Be careful booking trips - you will be approached many times as soon as you leave hotel regarding excursions. Take your time and compare prices before agreeing to things. Please note - although hotel website states room sleeps 4 people. It only really sleeps 3. There was a king size bed and they added a rollaway single bed (even this was a bit of a squeeze!). So we ended up with a wriggly 8 year old in bed with us. It wasn't the end of the world but I would have perhaps thought about getting 2 rooms if I had known the arrangements and lack of space. Special shout out to Sachith who made our room so wonderful to come back to each day! The kids absolutely loved the towel art. Always so fresh and clean. He was so respectful of when we wanted the room done and really worked around us, so thank you!
