Quite a nice hotel on the river with a shuttle boat to take you accross to a super beach, be aware there are no loungers or shade as its just a massive beach. The waves are quite big and there is an undeertow plus no life guards. Keep an eye on the children if you have any. The rooms are nice and large, clean with nice bathroom/showers. Staff are polite and helpfull. Quite a few family resturants in the town, the one i used was very good, ate one dinner in the hotel also very good. Buffet breakfast, really designed for local tastes, fruit and very nice scammbled eggs to order plus toast coffee/tea. Toaster hopeless they need to buy a new one the bread did not stay down you had to hold it down. Worth staying here, i would stay again if in the area

We were going to the neighboring Ayurveda center, but there was no free time and the tuk tuks advised us to go to this center. The Ayurveda center is large, but it only offers 1 type of complex massage for 59&. This is a 2-hour massage of the body, face, head, needles and a sauna. The doctor made a very unpleasant impression, we did not have any diagnostics, there was a feeling that he only needed to get money from us and get rid of us... We refused the needles, since the Center did not inspire confidence. The massage was more or less normal, but it lasted not 2 hours, but 1.5 hours. The hands of the masseuse were like sandpaper, and she even had nails (she scratched me once). After the massage, they wrapped me in a towel and I thought that they would take me to some women's locker room, a sauna. And they led me like that down the corridor, where there were giggling masseurs and other visitors... It was just brutal... No robes, no ethics... They led me to a coffin-sauna, it was all oily, they put a short towel down, I didn't lie down in it, it was very unpleasant. In general, the impression was terrible. I don't recommend it to anyone!

Fantastic place to rejuvenate and heal I am going there every year since 17 years to have treatment with Dr Rohita. I really recommend this place. Of course you cannot expect western confort and it is not a modern spa you must be aware of it. But the most important is the treatment Dr Rohita prescribes to you , If it would not be helpful i would not come back every year!

This spa is, without a doubt, the most horrifying excuse for a spa experience in existence. My sister and I went based on local recommendations, which, in hindsight, must have been cruel pranks, because this place is nothing short of a waking nightmare. Imagine a coffin disguised as a sauna—yes, a literal coffin. That’s where they expect you to relax. Relax? More like prepare for your funeral. The massage was allegedly two hours long, but in reality, it was an endless parade of interruptions as the so-called “therapists” took breaks every five minutes. Calling them “professional” would be an insult to amateurs everywhere. They don’t massage; they smear oil on you like they’re greasing a squeaky hinge. Zero technique, zero relaxation, just awkward rubbing that feels like a toddler trying to paint with their hands. Oh, and forget about peace and quiet—they chatter away non-stop, breaking any illusion of serenity. Every two minutes, you’re flipped over like a pancake on a griddle. Just when you think it can’t get worse, it does. Because, out of nowhere, a quack of a doctor barges into the women’s spa room without warning. Yes, in the middle of what was already a trainwreck, this self-proclaimed “acupuncturist” starts randomly jabbing needles into you without consent, calling it acupuncture. No explanation, no professionalism—just unsolicited needle poking like we’re some kind of pin cushions. This was supposed to be a soothing escape, but it felt more like an endurance test for a bad comedy show. If I could rate this experience with negative stars, I would. Attaching a photo of their so-called sauna—seriously, it’s a coffin. Save yourself the trauma and avoid this place at all costs.

We felt more than good in the hotel. It was an oasis of well-being. We had the feeling that they were there to anticipate our wishes. They always tried to make our lives as pleasant as possible. The kitchen is excellent, and if you like Indian cuisine you can be pampered with culinary delights here every day. The food is prepared according to your wishes. Spicy until you cry or mild - whatever you like. The Ayurveda area is very aesthetically designed, new flower arrangements are made in water vessels every day, an atmosphere that enchants and pampers the senses. We had full body massages every day, and all I can say is: excellent! I miss it a lot now! The hotel is also very suitable as a stopover for groups of tourists. There is always something magical and improvised here. If we come to Sri Lanka again, it will only be in this hotel!
