We have stayed in the Merchant twice before at the Victorian side of the hotel but this visit had a Deluxe Twin Art Deco room, which was simply amazing. Huge room with two huge double beds, huge living area to relax and a massive bathroom. Our package included dinner in the Great Room. Service was very attentive and we really enjoyed the relaxed ambience. The food was amazing. Fillet steak was one of the best cooked I have had. After our meal we retreated to the Cocktail bar for a few drinks, such a lovely space to end the evening. We have already booked our next stay in August and Cannot wait. Thank you all.

We got a Merchant gift voucher to Celebrate my birthday and I can honestly say everything was 5 Star . When we arrived at check in we were informed we had a complimentary upgrade to a suite that was a lovely touch . The suite was amazing lovely furniture great bathroom and a fantastic bed . We had dinner and breakfast in the great room and both were excellent food and service . Another lovely surprise was the chocolates card and balloon which were left in our room when we were having dinner. After returning from dinner we had another surprise a lovely birthday cake delivered we can't speak highly enough of the Merchant and their Staff . The Merchant Hotel is in a different level a true 5 star hotel thanks to all the staff for a wonderful birthday we will certainly be back.

We arrived early and Ula/Una (I am so sorry to have forgotten her name!) was a saint, saw we were exhausted and let us check in. We had upgraded to a Victorian suite and it was beautiful. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous! We experienced High Tea, had dinner at the Cloth Ear and completely enjoyed every minute of our time at the Merchant!! Great location and such friendly staff. The Irish breakfast was amazing!

Our 1st stay. Reception fast and efficient, with pleasant staff. Our room was ready early which was a bonus. Cracking room, comfortable bed and well stocked bathroom. Had an afternoon drink onsite. Extensive cocktail list and the bartender will make up drinks on request, well done. We ate in the Great Hall. All the food was excellent, well presented although it could have been a little warmer. Good choice on the menu. No need to leave the hotel as entertainment is on site in the Jazz Bar. A/C in our room which helped. No noise from outside even though it is a city centre based hotel. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and both me and my wife thought it was one of the best we have had. Again great friendly service. Would we stay again....absolutely. Well done to you and your staff

Afternoon tea is an amazing experience for all. The only issue we had was the revolving door at the main entrance which was just constant with visitors staring at what we had to eat. There should and needs to be a screen for the diners. so that the walk ins don't stand and stare at what the people are having for lunch or tea.

There is no better place to stay in Belfast (particularly Cathedral Quarter) than The Merchant. The rooms are immaculate, staff incredible and the beds are more comfortable than home! Room service, breakfast, jazz bar…you want for nothing while staying here. Will never stay anywhere else in Belfast! Kevin was an amazing bartender and is such a delight. Words cannot convey the gratitude I feel for this establishment and their staff.

What can i say beautiful hotel was here for a 2 night stay, had previously stayed at this hotel couple of years ago. On arrival to our room it was cold, no heating on! Since our last stay could see 'cut backs' bathroom towels worn, robes very worn and certainly not soft & fluffy, very hard and worn, not what i expect in a 5* hotel. No fridge in room, would be nice to have cool water on hand and not luke warm! Dinner and service in Berts Jazz bar was brilliant. We were not able to get a seat in the Cocktail Bar either of our 2 nights stay, roof top Jacuzzi was always busy so never got to use it, when i stayed couple of years ago it was the same, i never got to sit in Cocktail Bar or use the Jacuzzi so very disappointing . Breakfast as always was fantastic from start to finish, from quality of food to the excellent service/staff. The whole ambience of The Merchant is just great.

The room was beautiful and luxurious. Service at breakfast was frosty - it seemed obvious that staff were unhappy and there were issues with management of the team. The food was mediocre at breakfast. Coffee awful. Bert’s jazz bar was wonderful, including service, food and music. All round a mixed experience.
