Beijing Haidian District 5-star Hotels

I am still giving excellent rating. But, the hotel called the security to my room probably based on my nationality, race or whatsoever. This is very unprofessional in the 21 century. They even didn’t apologize at the end.

Hotel is located around 30 minutes by subway to city centre and just over an hour to great wall by taxi. Rooms were large and very well presented. Air conditioning wasn't the best and didn't get cool enough so a fan was provided. The hotel has a gym which is quite basic, however there is a mall on BF which hotel guests can use the gym and pool. Pool is not part of hotel and need to wear goggles and hat so didnt use. The mall has everything you need including spar supermarket. Good location for getting supplies.

My two children and I came to Beijing for a competition and some sightseeing. We encountered heavy rain, prompting us to spontaneously extend our stay for an extra night and move from the Boya Hotel at Peking University to the Shangri-La. The kids absolutely loved it, declaring that the Shangri-La's beds and bedding were the most comfortable they'd experienced, ensuring the best sleep of our entire Beijing trip! The service was truly exceptional. After venturing out to explore Peking University in the morning despite the rain, we returned to find our flight was delayed by two hours. The hotel graciously extended our check-out time until 3 PM, allowing us plenty of time to shower the children and get everything packed and ready. We are incredibly grateful for the hotel's thoughtful and accommodating approach. A special shout-out to the bell staff/concierge who helped with our luggage upon arrival and departure, always with such poise and professionalism. Many thanks also to Wang Ran from the service center, who proactively approached me, noticing I was with children, to offer a late check-out until 3 PM. While our room type was unexpectedly upgraded this time, it also meant we enjoyed complimentary dinner, a variety of soft drinks and juices, and a truly lavish breakfast. It was truly fantastic value for money! The children were so impressed, they've already declared that next time we visit with their grandparents, we must stay at the Shangri-La again!

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, but the real highlight was the luggage storage service. Special thanks to Bob Chen, Lei Chen and Yuchen Hou for their excellent help. They stored my bags securely for almost 12 hours. Friendly, efficient, and professional! Would definitely stay again just for the great service. Highly recommend!

Facilities are comprehensive and quite modern. The place was spotlessly clean. The location is excellent, very close to the subway station and adjacent to a residential area, making dining and transportation incredibly convenient. Situated in the northwest of Haidian District, it offers a more local experience with fewer tourists. The service was excellent.

The place is overall very nice and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to 董天赐 and 杨宇春, who help us a lot with the luggages. The facilities are slightly old. It feels bad that the swimming pool was closed during our stay. I booked the place basically because of the swimming pool. I think they should have informed us earlier on the website.

Reception, housekeeping and gym attendent were very helpful n friendly. Paid almost same price for another inn n the experience is much much better. Far from forbidden city but didi at around $8 can get you there. Welcome drink and daily breakfast good value. Return to clean and tidy room daily. Thank bixia. Aircon difficult to control. Warm in the room at time.

I booked this hotel as part of a late Christmas present for my boyfriend. The building was exceptionally clean and the staff were excellent! If you don’t speak Chinese you might struggle a little; however, the building is well sign posted. Known as the first garden hotel of Beijing, this two storey stalwart building has a garden in the centre, which can be viewed from each room, as does it have an openable door with a small balcony. Because of the location, I expect this is a resort hotel with amenities close by. The room was very well appointed; equally so were the housekeeping staff who kept us in a good supply of Molten Brown and chocolate. Access to the executive meant a plentiful supply of top quality food and free-flowing liquor, which was perfect for the Brit! The swimming pool was magnificent and far beyond my expectations for a small non-chain hotel. I'm not sure who this hotel caters to because its location and homogenous supply of 48 rooms don't offer much flexibility. When we stayed in early January, which is probably the down season, there were only 8 other guests. For most people, this wouldn't be a problem; however, I personally like a bit of noise and atmosphere. That being said, it's not a critique of the hotel. Summary: excellent staff, excellent large room with bathtub and shower, balcony with garden view, executive lounge access with all room purchases, stunning swimming pool, quiet (possibly inconvenient (though you would know this before booking) and serene location.

Facilities: 5 points The gym facilities are very good and there are indeed many people. The swimming pool has two lanes, and there are many beginners taking classes. There is nothing wrong with the room facilities, but it is a bit regrettable that there is a single basin and no smart toilet. Service: 4.5 points Half a point was deducted. I saw on the bulletin board near the elevator that the hotel bar had bread and dessert blind boxes (18:00-22:00). After we went to the bar, the service staff pretended not to know and said that there was only a half-price event, and we just had to go back to take pictures. If you don’t want to sell cheaply, you can not participate in the event. There is an event that is obviously available, but you still pretend not to know. Later, after further questioning, you admit that there is an event, and reluctantly help us pack bread. It’s really boring👎👎 The service attitude of the front desk, gym, lounge, and room service is very good, and the concierge has no contact. Hygiene: 5 points There is no big problem, and the guest room still has a slight smell, especially in the cabinet. Environment: 5 points The lounge can overlook the Olympic Forest Park, and there are several small meeting rooms with a good learning atmosphere. The design of the public area is also very good. The hotel is inspired by horses and unifies many visual design elements.
