Impressive looking building from the outside but a really slow check in. They had 4-5 staff members yet everything took longer than I’d expect. The room was basic and, for the price, underwhelming. In addition, the walls are marked and scuffed. One part of the wall had food stains. The carpet is stained. When we went to go to bed we found the linen was dirty. There were stains on both the duvet and the bed sheet! We called down for reception and they said sorry then sent a maid to change the duvet. I felt like good customer service would include at least having someone from customer service/reception come to check on us and the room, or calling us to check, or making a note to ask at check out. No follow up.
Apart from this the room is a good size and felt spacious with a desk, sofa and large double bed. The bathroom also had 2 sinks and ample space for your things. The cupboards were also large with lots of hangers etc. There is a full ironing board. I was disappointed for the price (over ¥2000 a night) that even their basic rooms don’t have a coffee machine (like Nespresso etc). This seems to be standard in most hotels at this price range these days. Just instant coffee. As part of the price, the hotel included “free mini bar” which was just 1 can of coke, sprite and Fanta. All full sugar, no zero/diet. Only one side of the bed has plug socks for charging. Otherwise, there is a socket under the desk. The slippers constantly stuck to the tiled floor area which meant squeaky/sticky sounds as you walk around. I’m not sure if it was just the slippers or the floor coating but it was pretty irritating.
The breakfast was good with a range of choices including pancakes, waffles, different types of bread, omelette/egg station, noodles, porridge etc as well as fried vegetables, salad, fruit and sausages etc. Lots of coffee machines dotted around the canteen.
Location good if you want to go to the lake area and surrounds. There isn’t much walkable so to really take advantage you need a car , either a Didi or your own. You can rent bikes but anyone serious brings their own and cycles round the area. There are local restaurants about 1-2k away which is walkable. We had some ok local food for a good price. Disappointed not to find a modern cafe anywhere nearby, including the hotel. The coffee in the hotel was only the push button kind, like at breakfast buffets. No real cafe.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel and wouldn’t go back.

I stayed at the Qihu Hotel with my parents and daughter on May 2nd and checked out on May 4th. The hotel is close to Yanqi Lake and has a beautiful environment, especially the garden on the 3rd floor is beautiful, with a Jiangnan style. Sit on the leisure swing chair to enjoy the lake view and enjoy the holiday time! The Chinese restaurant has a comfortable environment and the dishes are also very good!
In addition to the beautiful environment and complete facilities, the hotel also has very good service. The service in every place, such as the guest room and restaurant, is good. Especially the front desk check-in service staff Zhang Yu on the day of check-in is even more enthusiastic, taking care of my parents, and providing thoughtful service. We feel at home. Thank you very much!
A very satisfying holiday trip, my parents are also very happy!

Staying at the Yanqi Hotel was to have a holiday feeling, a five-star hotel used to greet the national leadership level, the service is even 10 times worse than the service of a small hotel in Beijing's courtyard.
When we got off the bus, the hotel attendant just watched us drive, watched us move our own luggage, came over to help without any help, and pushed our luggage into the hotel lobby by ourselves. At check-in, basically no hotel information was provided, even the place to eat the breakfast meal, how many restaurants, had to be asked to answer. When booking the hotel there is a shooting service, are my inquiry, the front desk only answer how to make the reservation.
Entered the room, felt very hot, so asked someone to come over to adjust, the first defense department staff came over, told me that it can not be adjusted, because they are central air conditioning, and told me all five-star are central air conditioning😤 Then the TV remote control can not turn on, later he helped me turn on, said just poor contact! He also called another engineering department staff over, the engineering staff basically entered the room without saying hello to me, he stepped into my room wearing construction site shoes, the whole process was very rude, just said, the air conditioner can not be adjusted, is like this!
Dinner at a Chinese restaurant, the dishes tasted good, just when eating, felt the arm bowl pricked, a check, it turned out that the bowl is cracked, so I changed the bowl myself!
After dinner, I wandered around the lobby and found a feedback box, so we at the front desk, did you have any feedback?
Back in the room, the TV remote did not work, so had to call him again to ask someone to come over,. Suddenly the phone in the room rang. Finally he came over to handle it personally and I asked him how your hotel trains its employees, not even a three-star hotel! Preferably he changed our rooms and arranged a two-hour delayed check-out.

I really didn't expect that as someone who has a lot of hotel experience, I hadn't discovered this treasure-level hotel before:
1: Real and special theme: The theme of a general hotel is to reflect the theme in the room. However, this hotel has a panoramic theme. When you take the elevator with colorful floors to the 18th floor, your children will be unable to move. When you walk through the carefully decorated corridor to enter the room, your children will not want to leave the room again. Thanks to Wang Lili, the room service, for introducing various theme rooms for us to visit.
2: Art and cultural atmosphere: This is a veritable art hotel, especially on the first and second floors, there are all kinds of artworks for viewing. In terms of cultural atmosphere, the books placed on the hotel reception floor (2nd floor) and the afternoon tea restaurant (21st floor) are all real books. We borrowed two books to read in the room. Here, I would like to thank Gao Yujie from the tea restaurant for her enthusiastic introduction. Many of the hotel's characteristics were told to us by her.
3: Foodie benefits: Whether it is breakfast or dinner, it is really delicious. Gao Yujie from the tea restaurant said that the hotel invited a former CCTV chef! Of course, the environment is also excellent. Chinese meals are served in carefully decorated private rooms, and there are real green plants on the breakfast table.
4: Five-star service: Whether it is the front desk, guest room, tea restaurant, Chinese restaurant, or breakfast restaurant, every waiter I met is enthusiastic and meticulous. Wang Lili, the guest room attendant, saw that our children were older, so she specially prepared adult slippers; the breakfast waiter also came over enthusiastically to ask about the needs, and everything made people feel at home.
5: Fans' benefits: Next to it is a film and television shooting and production base, and there is a chance to meet a star here!
This may be the time when I wrote the most code and pictures for the review. In short, it is highly recommended!
The dreamy ocean-themed room we booked this time was particularly shocking. There was actually a big ship inside. The children's eyes widened as soon as they walked in. The environment was clean and tidy, and the supporting toiletries were high-end. The meals are delicious, the mix is reasonable, food, accommodation and entertainment are all included in the price, saving you worry and effort. The service staff have very good attitudes, respond to all requests, and are even more patient and gentle with naughty children. The children were very happy when they received gifts when they checked in and when they left. When I left the hotel, I found that the car had been wiped clean. It was worthy of the ceiling of a Beijing family hotel. The child said he would go next time.

Great experience. Service was perfect. Yanqi Lake Boutique Hotels, managed by Kempinski are impeccable. My family stayed two nights. I've booked two rooms. One single bed and one twin beds room. Rooms were modern, clean and spacious. Clean sheets and comfortable beds. I was surprised how big and clean rooms where. Toilets were clean and specious. What you see on the pictures is what you get. More than I’ve expected. Food was perfect. We had buffet breakfast and we could choose between western food and Chinese food. For diner we eat at the restaurant and the food we ordered was delicious. Lots of things to do around. You can visit Hongluo Temple, Mutianyu Great Wall or you can walk around hotel area and see the Yanqi Pagoda or visit International Conference Center (APEC and Belt and Road Initiative conferences were held there, and it was nice experience to visit the place where most powerful leaders in the world seated and planed the future of the world). All in all, great experience. Special thanks to Shirley Le, duty manager and to June Jian for the warm reception and their hospitality. If you want to relax and clear your mind and body I recommend Yanqi Lake Boutique Hotels, managed by Kempinski.

Stayed here for the second time, this time I took my elders on vacation.
During the short vacation, I thought of Yanbai first, and quickly placed an order to grab the last room I liked. And happily upgraded the room type.
I also spent the same day in Yanbai last year, and the happiness was closed☺️
I won’t go into details about the facilities and services. Different people have different preferences. I am very satisfied with myself and my family.
Get the Yanbai Cultural Tour Activity~ Full marks for the tea-making experience! A very comfortable one-hour exchange and hands-on practice, very interesting 👍 Check in at the Beishan Plank Road, a relatively niche walking route, with fewer people than the Xishan Plank Road, a relatively short distance, and seamless connection with the hotel.
Looking forward to seeing you again👋

Clean, small, modern, functional room. For me as European the breakfast was not very varied, mostly Chinese dishes. Also, no real lobby or place to sit outside your room. Good for a short one or max 2 night stay to visit highlights of Beijing but for longer stay where you would like some hotel comfort would not really recommend.

The expansive outdoor area features a man-made rock formation and waterfall, complemented by traditional Chinese decorations, making it stand out among similarly priced hotels in Beijing. Its proximity to the city center and subway station offers convenient transportation options, although some amenities appear somewhat dated. Additionally, after comparing the rooms and prices, I find Villa B to be my preferred choice over Villa A.

This hotel is absolutely perfection, with only two minor issues- the air conditioning in the room is set to 25° which was too hot for us, and we had a full body pat down by security every single time we came through the front doors of the hotel (only way to enter/exit), and every item on us had to be scanned through machine every time we entered hotel (including handbags, wallets, food delivered to us that was dropped off at designated table outside hotel). Everything else was absolutely perfect! Location, cleanliness, staff friendliness, the art around the hotel. Everything.
*we did ask to reduce temperature in our room and three people came to do it. Though they only reduced to 23° though which was better, but still too warm.
