Find Bed and breakfasts in Philadelphia

I am not sure how this hotels have so many wonderful reviews. I will start with the pros and move to the cons. PROS 1. The staff were friendly very warm welcoming. 2. Parking if free. CONS. 1. The place is run down and needs renovations. The curtains were have with dust, if you suffer from allergies, asthma or sinusitis DO NOT STAY THERE! My allergies Immediately flares up. Itchy eyes, sore throat and headache. 2. The sitting chair in our room was torn and faded, and was covered with a blanket to hid the rips. 3. Bathroom is down the hall and we had to share it with guests. 4. The bathroom stall wait not clean ( Please bring a pair of slippers to wear in the shower). The bathroom windows, sink and needs to be fixed. 5. The outside porch/veranda has old torn, and faded furnitures. The flooring is also old and faded and broken. 6. The only restaurant close by was an Ethiopian restaurant, and a pizza shop. I wish I could upload a video This place is not as advertised. We did not stay for breakfast.

Stayed 4 nights here in large apartment style room with sitting area and small kitchen. Old style furnishings and beautiful main dining room and sitting room area Breakfast was continental midweek with cereals, hard boiled eggs, selection of breads bagels and toast, pastries and fresh fruit. At weekend we had cooked omelette, home made cherry cake, filled croissants and avocado on bagels as well as midweek selection Very friendly staff and place spotlessly clean Location very safe and residential close to 2 great restaurants we ate at, Seafood Unlimited and Southgate with brilliant Happy Hour food and drink offers. Would definitely stay here again and the complimentary cocktails at their sister hotel The Morgan, was a great excuse to visit that hotel which was a beautiful hotel and again lovely staff

I cannot say enough about the experience we were provided with here at Cornerstone B&B. It is like it's right out of a Hallmark Movie. I do not have one complaint, and we would not have changed anything about our stay. This place is top notch. We stayed in the Philadelphian room and it was perfect for my husband and I. The staff is incredible. They treat you like royalty and make you feel right at home. They are super attentive, and willing to help with anything you need. They give you their phone numbers, so that you can call throughout the night if you need anything, although they stay on property. There were complimentary bottles of water, delicious baked goods, elegant soaps, Qtips, cotton balls, ear plugs, lotions, and more in the bedrooms for us. There were also shampoo/soap/conditioner dispensers in the shower, so no need to pack any of those items! They supplied us with plenty of linens, and comfy robes. There was always an array of fresh baked goods, tea, and coffee in the common area. There was also a microwave and fridge available in a kitchenette area in the common area. Laundry could be washed in community machines at extra cost. There was free wifi, and streaming services available in the rooms. It being and old house it was a bit drafty, but they thought of that too, and provided us with a heater, and already had the room warmed up and ready for us! Breakfast was incredibly delicious! Parking was FREE, and not hard to find at all. We were able to park right in front of the building at no charge, or a driveway spot could have been available to us for just $15 more, which is a STEAL in this city. It was easy to find, and a perfect distance from both the city center, and the stadium. The neighborhood felt safe, and the doors have code entry. There was a perfect little relaxing porch area where we drank tea and ate out cookies. There are also other resting spots in the gated yard. They offer romantic packages with wine, smores, roses, choc strawberries, and more! They really have thought of everything here! I cant say enough about the amazing staff! The home is clean and gorgeous, but the people are what really made our stay. I believe his name is Brian that helped us check in, and in the AM. That boy deserves a raise. He is fantastic. We checked in later than I had planned, because we got caught up in the fun of the city, but when I called, Brian was so sweet. He told us that check in times are usually until 7pm, but to take our time. He wanted us to enjoy the city, and he would make sure he was available for a late check in if needed. We ended up checking in on time, to which he made sure to take into account any dietary restrictions we had, and get our breakfast order in. The environment was nothing short of relaxing, refreshing, and homey. We have stayed at many fancy, expensive hotels when we travel, but will stay here every time we visit the area from now on, and we will refer everyone we know to stay here. The ONLY miniscule th

My husband and I wanted to stay somewhere in Philly that had breakfast and free parking. We hit the jackpot when we found the Manayunk Chambers Guest House. It checked the boxes for both requirements, but it was *so much more*. Mark, the ”face” of the B&B and Neal, a more ”behind the scenes” operator, are warm, friendly people who embody a wonderful mix of modern savvy and old-world chivalry. We arrived at the end of a 1,000-plus-mile road trip and I was wiped out! Accordingly, it warmed my heart that they both, at varying moments, offered to carry my suitcase up/down stairs. We also enjoyed lively conversation with each of them. Fun! When we booked the room, we asked if there were any discounts such as AAA or seniors. Mark does not offer such perks as a rule, but a look at his calendar allowed him to give us 10% off. To our delight, when we checked in, he offered us an upgrade at no additional charge. What a mensch! We booked the Parisienne Suite, but with the upgrade ended up in the City Suite, which was marvelous. The bed was so comfortable, I almost didn't make it down to the parlor to partake of the ample selection of wines/beers/sodas and snacks. But I couldn't pass up that opportunity... Nor should anyone who stays there. It is thoroughly relaxing and peaceful. Before calling it a night, I immersed myself at length in the soaking tub, which removed any tension that might have been left. After a sound snooze, my day began with, perhaps, the funkiest shower I've ever taken. I cannot tell a lie. I was like a little kid changing the settings to make water come out of different spouts. It was a ton of fun and I'd have liked to take the shower home with me, but it didn't fit in my luggage... ;-) Breakfast—peach crepes with yogurt, fruit and granola; cappuccino and a basket of homemade pastries—was artfully presented, healthy and delicious. Does it get better than that? As a matter of fact, it does, because conversation with Mark and his other guests was also completely engaging. And with its independent shops and restaurants, Manayunk is an adorable area with something for everyone. From start to finish our stay at Manayunk Chambers Guest House was a salve for body and mind.
