When checking in, check the toilets. We had a very unpleasant and outrageous incident at this hotel. 12 hours before checkout, the receptionist hesitantly informed us that we had a cracked toilet and the maids claimed that it had cracked a couple of days ago. Naturally, we went up to room 210 and found a chip and a crack on the toilet bowl, which was not there when we checked in and we had nothing to do with this crack. What happened next: we were notified that we had to reimburse the hotel 700 GEL for the broken toilet and that it was our fault. We were not provided with any documents, acts, or invoices. Why 700 lari? And not 1000? There was just an oral conversation from the receptionist: “Our manager said that you owe 700 GEL.” Naturally, we refused to pay. It was the day of our fifth wedding anniversary, we had a table booked at a restaurant and we decided that we would sort it out when checking out. They did not offer us to move into another room, although we were obliged to do so, because they saw that the toilet was already defective. Firstly, we didn’t break this toilet. Secondly, they simply demanded 700 GEL from us. I don’t understand why? In the morning, during the eviction, Porte called the police, here the most interesting thing began, the police concluded in 3 minutes that it was our fault, they rudely demanded our passports, when they saw the Belarusian passports, Russophobic jokes and threats of criminal liability and threats of prison began. But should Belarusians who survived August 2020 be afraid of prison for a broken toilet? It's even funny! We were sent to the local police station, where the police did not even try to look into this matter and really identify the culprits. They just dumped everything on us! We stood our ground, in the end we were offered to pay 50% of the amount, which we had to agree to, but only because we had purchased tickets to Belarus, and while the proceedings were ongoing we had to be on the territory of Georgia. Further along the Batumi-Tbilisi road, I received a notification from booking about an unconfirmed reservation. Apparently, the manager of this hotel is so sure that we broke this unfortunate toilet that she had to limit access to my ability to leave a review. On the expanses of FB in a Russian-speaking group, I came across a comment under my post that the toilet and in general the entire bathroom were broken by my huge dogs. I also want to comment on this fact: - We have two dogs (Golden 35 kg and York 5 kg) - The hotel is marked pet friendly, but there are no water bowls or any nice treats for dogs. Like, come with dogs, yes you can, but it’s better without them. - We always close the bathroom before leaving because dogs have nothing to do in the bathroom. And how could the dogs, and most importantly, what could they do to break the toilet bowl? And if our dogs are such hooligans, why is the rest of the room intact? Again the good old xenophobia on the part of the staff of this hotel! We can conclude - check everything and take pictures before moving in! P.s. and read the reviews carefully. There was another case in this hotel when there were also guests
