I’ve been a bit slow on getting around to writing this review but I was not going to miss giving this place a shout out! The setting and the room were absolutely beautiful but the biggest credit goes to the staff. So welcoming and friendly. From the young lady who served our drinks on arrival (didn’t get a name but she finished at 5pm Monday 16th sept), Abi, who checked us in and showed us to our room and also, along with the lovely Reuben, made sure we had everything we needed and couldn’t do enough for us and last but certainly not least, Sophia who was so friendly when we returned from a night out in time for our last drink at the bar. The staff are an absolute credit to this place! Well done and thank you all ☺️

This was our second visit to The Boathouse and we were so disapointed, we were in the same room as our last visit and to be honest it was a bit shabby, no matteress cover, no pillow protectors, blinds looked a bit grubby, the bathroom was not particularly clean and the toilet brush needed condeming. The room was above where deliveries were made so early morning noise was a problem, this was such a shame as this hotel is in an idyllic spot, with the Park and ride BUS right behind so no need to use the car. Staff were very friendly, we had one evening meal which was expensive for basic Burger and chips, bonus was the Complementary drinks. I feel housekeeping needs to improve, and maybe a more varied and reasonable menu. Sorry Boathouse Sadly we won't be returning.

Avoid at all costs - looks like a nice spot but avoid!! Terrible food. Dated and poor value for money. Tables were lined up like a stadium to pack in 100' s but they could not keep up with orders so services was diabolical. Drinks & food were expensive. I did not not like the salad. There was no effort or attention to detail. No table service will not be recommending it to anyone.

We enjoyed a lovely three night stay at The Boathouse earlier this week. The hotel is situated in an ideal location for exploring Bath and local area with a park and ride bus almost on the doorstep to get back and forth the town. Our room was spotlessly clean with fresh towels everyday. There is a good variety of meals available throughout the day/ evening and breakfast was fantastic. We were lucky with the weather which meant that we could enjoy the evening sun on the balcony and riverside beer garden. What made our stay really special was the warm welcome and hospitality shown by all the staff at the hotel. Extra special mention to Abi who was very informative about the area and who made sure that our stay was great.

This is a wonderful location and the property is in an idyllic setting. The manager is attentive and addresses issues in a professional manner. However, the room we had was a little tired, the curtain was not fully linked to the pole (basic attention to detail) and the terrace/ balcony was in need of a good scrub, also the windows were filthy, hadn’t been cleaned for some time. Bathroom was adequate but not exceptional.

Maybe the best fish and chips of the trip. Solid wine list. Gotta snag a table on the porch so you can watch the river and catch a breeze. Reservations recommended. We took a car service to the restaurant but walked back into the city -- about a 10 or 15 minute walk through a safe and charming neighborhood. So, depending on the activity level of your party, a cab or Uber might not be necessary. Or, if the weather is nice, you may just decide to walk.

Being resident in Bath, I go to Hall & Woodhouse in Old King Street fairly frequently but had never been to the Boathouse so went there for lunch with a friend, which was excellent. Waiting staff were friendly and the food very good. As I had friends visiting Bath for the weekend, I booked a specific table for Sunday lunch. Upon arrival I was advised that the table was still occupied and when I asked what other table they could offer, the manager, said there were no other tables available and that he had no idea when one would be. When I questioned why, his response was "it's a Sunday and we're very busy". He did not go out of his way to help or offer a solution, he just let my party stand there wondering what we should do. After a while a couple, who were leaving offered us their table, which was not ideal as it was by the door to the outside area and very cold. I emailed head office of Hall & Woodhouse who said they would pass the message and ask the Boathouse to respond. They didn't. When I wrote again to the head office they said once again that they would chase it and get them to respond, 3 months later still nothing. So, a word of warning to any potential diners for Sunday lunch at The Boathouse, Bath - even double checking your booking may not be sufficient to guarantee that when you arrive your table will be secured, or indeed they will be able to accommodate you. I will put this down to unfortunate experience, and certainly not what I have come to associate with the Hall & Woodhouse brand as a whole.

Simply beautiful place and location. The bedroom was gorgeous so comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The staff are exceptional as is the location, on top of this is the exceptonal breakfast. Close by is a cheap park and ride into Bath what more could you ask for. Already planning our next stay.
