When I booked the Royal Hotel, I was looking for accommodation that was centrally located, provided us with that old ‘Georgian architecture’ and was affordable. The Royal Hotel provided us with all that and more. The facilities and the beds were extremely comfortable. The room was amazing (very high ceilings, long draped curtains, beautiful cornices) and very spacious. We even had a bath. I felt like the Queen. The quality of food was A+++. Breakfast was included in our package. We had a very tasty, hot English breakfast and also included in our breakfast was the buffet section with all the fruits, cereals, yogurt’s, juices and condiments. As guests staying at the hotel, we were offered a deal at the a la carte dining room for a three course meal for £25 pounds per person. Wow, wow, wow. I had the mussels in a creamy garlic, wine and parsley sauce for starters, the lamb cutlets for main and the crème brûlée for dessert. It was top notch. The lamb was cooked to perfection. The staff are amazing. We were greated by the gorgeous, friendly, Tim. Tim even took us out of the hotel to show us how to get to the car park. He went above and beyond. All the staff were great, from Anna at the bar, who poured us a great beer, to Ailia and Chris in the restaurant for meals. If booking this hotel a d requiring a car park, do so at the time of booking as it is close to the back of the hotel. The other great thing, if you are travelling to Bath by train, the hotel is situated across from the Royal Hotel, so just a hop, skip & a jump. They will also hold your luggage if you need to store your luggage if you get there early or need to leave later in the day after check out. Centrally located to town, with the shops, Roman baths and all the tourist attractions and shops were just around the corner. If you are having a short stay and want to see the town, get on a hop on, hop off bus. Would highly recommend staying at the Royal Hotel.
