Pros :The hotel is located very close to everything and anything. Rooms are really spacious ,which is hard to find in Europe . But real jem are people: very helpful, polite and knowledgeable. All of them were great. But Jean Luc was just the best. Cannot say enough praise. We will give this hotel another chance because of him. Cons: Each and every room needs a serious upgrade( we looked at 3 of them) .Spots on the carpet, dirty upholstery on furniture ,dust, etc. If they do the renovation, it will be the best hotel ever.

I stayed one night in a first floor suite yesterday. Brilliantly located close to the centre but far away enough to avoid too much noise. Parking at the sister hotel a few minutes walk away. Classic building decorated in typical Georgian style. The suite was opulent and comfortable. No lift here however so heavy bags may be an issue. Nevertheless the exceptionally helpful reception and staff in general made for a welcoming stay.

My husband booked a night away at this hotel for our 1st Anniversary. After reading the reviews we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed. The suite was very dated, had stains/marks on the bathroom walls, chipped toilet seat, the bathroom light was hanging down, the fan was very dirty and dusty, the bed throw had REJECT written on it in blue pen…it just wasn’t what we were expecting especially for how much we paid! I understand from reading other reviews that this hotel has been recently taken over and is in the middle of being spruced up however the price should reflect that. We could have booked other hotels in a similar area for the same price but in a lot better condition. We ended up skipping breakfast and checked out early.

Absolutely lovely hotel , joint with the bird hotel where we had fantastic food and cocktails. Dukes is very quaint and the staff especially Vincent at front of house and Eiliah at breakfast couldn’t do enough or be more helpful. We will definitely be back , the wellington room is lovely. Many thanks guys , see u soon mark and Tracy Jay x

Loved this hotel, tucked away in a quiet street, yet close to all that Bath has to offer. The hotel is well-appointed and rooms are comfortable and beautifully-maintained. Wonderful, charming, engaging and helpful staff. Highly recommend a stay at Dukes Bath!

We loved this hotel, from the furnishings to the staff, who were genuinely kind and very helpful. My husband used a mobility scooter and each day someone was on hand to help me put it together and transport it in and out of the hotel. The beds were comfortable, plush and not hard, with good pillows. We took our Cockapoo. She was made to feel very welcome with a plush dog bed and welcome pack, which included a ball! The breakfasts were outstanding. I am gluten free and love pancakes, but they weren't on the menu, so they bought the ingredients and made them especially. They were amazing. We are looking forward to returning in the new year.

The overall impression of this facility is worn and dowdy. The carpets were stained. The hallway light fixtures were dirty. The paint was chipped. Several of the hallway lights were not functioning making it difficult to see in the evening . The staff was pleasant and helpful. Would not return or recommend.

Dukes Bath is a wonderful hotel! The staff are all friendly, caring and really helpful - it's obvious that they take pride in giving the best experience. They were helpful with moving luggage and specific requests. The breakfast is brilliant, as they accommodate different diets (e.g. gluten free, dairy free) and will obtain specialist food or drinks if asked (e.g. alternative milk). The room was large, stylish, clean and comfortable with quality extras such as natural hand soap and hand cream (no harsh chemicals). I would highly recommend Dukes, especially for those with dietary requirements.
