Great room decent size friendly staff. Only down side to it the bed was hard and the pillows were thin. Hot water was hit and miss in the shower one day you will have some the next you don't. The heating didn't work in the room but got a heater from reception. Overall a pleasant stay and would stay there again.

For the price you pay to stay you can't complain too much. However, if we had paid anymore I would've been fuming. On the positive side the gentleman on reception was lovely, very friendly, helpful, polite, happy to help. However, the negative much outweigh the positives im afraid. Fag ends all over the floor/steps at the front of the property. Parking is a bit of a free for all, on a steep slant, we didn't feel our car was particularly safe from damage. Our room was mostly clean, the TV did not work though and we were just given instructions on how to fix it ourselves, it was an inch thick in dust behind it when I checked if the arial was plugged in. Our room was right next to the corridor door at the top of the stairs so we had the slamming of the door for a lot of the evening and a strange buzzing noise all night that we could not figure out what it was. The corridor door at the top of the stairs also creaked! So it would make a huge difference if maintenance would oil it to at least minimise that noise. It didn't look like the tiles around the shower and bath had been cleaned. The bed was a small double but it was comfortable. The hallway carpets are old, marked and need replacing. The whole place needs an overall refurbishment. The worst part for me was the shocking "continental" breakfast. It was £4.95 which i thought was cheap so didn't expect much. However it was literally a plate of bread or crumpets next to a toaster. An instant coffee or a choice of a couple of cereals. So I paid 4.95 per person for an instant coffee and a crumpet. Not even a filter coffee at least, and the instant was awful! I wish we had gone to weatherspoons. The dining room was falling apart, old tattered decorations hanging down, old dusty table ornaments, wonkey tables, waited over 10mins to even get that instant coffee. They dont do hot food or a nice coffee/latte even though they were calling it a "bistro". You could get a sausage bap if you pre order it the night before for breakfast. We didn't use the bar but it looked nice. There is a gym but I didn't go to look at it. For the price though it was ok for 1 night. Don't bother with the breakfast though. The staff seemed the best thing about the hotel and its location.

I was nervous after seeing some comments however I was very happy with my stay here, the man on reception I think his name was Sean was very welcoming and helped with our bags to the room. He was very chatty which was a welcome to the hotel. We booked the deluxe king with sea view and were worried what room we’d get after seeing comments and the room was amazing! Such good value. The views were amazing and the bed incredibly comfortable. It was a very peaceful stay it was so quiet the only noise we heard were the seagulls. We stayed for 2 nights but wished it was longer. It was perfect location for the station. It’s a bit of a walk to Barry island but you can get a train down there which takes 5 minutes and is very cheap and regular. Nothing bad to say about our stay here.

I dont really no where to start, we went away for our mum's 60th large group of us. We booked with weeks in advance and spoke the receptionist twice just confirm the disabled access that this hotel offeres. We were assured it has disabled assess, after a lovely day on the beach we went to check-in my niece is 11 so in a standard child's wheelchair that wouldn't fit through any of the doors no grab rails no wet room corridors really narrow! Receptionist was back and forth the phone with manager who wouldn't speak to me personally, we had to look for something else they did not help with this at all no luck in barry so we went to Porthcawl! This hotel really needs to stop advertising the disabled access friendly because this isn't the case, we had some very upset kids. Also advertise bistro it doesnt serve hot food or at least thats what we were told. In this day in age hotles shouldn't get away with false advertising shame on you!!!

Worse hotel I have ever stayed in,room was definitely not was advertised. It was dirty, broken, and very out dated. And when you hear a member of staff saying to another " you wouldn't pay me to stay in these rooms" Well that about sums it up, Would definitely not recommend!

My sister and I stayed for 1 night in a twin room and I’d recommend the hotel for the price we paid. The room was spacious with a lovely few over Barry and all of the staff members we encountered were friendly and accommodating. The one towel we were each given was a bit on the small side and we could have done with darker curtains as it was very light in the morning but we both slept well and it was nice and quiet. We were not pressured into paying extra for breakfast and would recommend the Wetherspoons nearby. The hotel is also perfectly located for the train station.
