The Rolle Quay Inn

Fab place to stay. Small room but don't need a vast room if all you plan to do is sleep in it. Nicely decorated and very clean. Added bonus there is a fridge in the room with basic drinks in, alcoholic and non alcoholic and snacks all with an honesty box. Plenty of tea, coffee etc. Great location for town centre. Parking outside £5 for 24 hours. Food downstairs lovely and great staff. Definitely go back again

We went for a early Anniversary meal. The food was exceptional, staff polite, courteous and very thoughtful with a keen eye for perfection and detail. Not pretentious in any way but customers are made to feel ”very special”. I could not recommend this hotel enough, it was excellent in every way.
The Royal & Fortescue Hotel

Conveniently located and 2 minutes walk to the cinema, theatre and museum and 4 minutes to the pannier market and Barnstaple bridge where you can walk alongside the river in either direction. There are plenty of shops and cafes and all situated near to the hotel. The bus station is around the corner with trips to many other wonderful locations such as Ilfracombe, Wollacombe, Lynton & Lynmouth and Combe Martin. Sitting on the top deck gives you a great view during your travels.

An excellent hotel in every way; my wife and I booked three nights here and we were very impressed; the room was a good size with a very clean ensuite with a bath and an amazing powerful shower; the breakfasts provided a comprehensive menu choice of virtually everything and the food quality was excellent; we also enjoyed dinner here and there were different menu choices each evening and again the food was excellent and beautifully presented. We cannot fault the Barnstaple Hotel in any way; we didn’t use the swimming pool or gym but they looked to be of a high standard like the rest of the hotel facilities.
Premier Inn Barnstaple

You get what you pay for. We paid just over £40 per night for a family of 4 and it provided a comfy bed for a few nights. Cons: The corridors are shabby with cracked ceiling panels, the bathrooms shabby and dated. There was someone elses rubbish under the bed when we checked in, so I question the quality of the clean between visitors. The Table Table that is beside which serves the breakfast didn't have a buffet style breakfast and only instant coffee. Generally speaking the food was ok. Pros: cheap. Comfy beds and pillows. Good location with a Tesco over the road and a soft play next door. If you're on a budget and need a cheap comfy bed for the night, then it's a winner
