1-Star Review at most
I’ve stayed at SLS hotels in Miami and Beverly Hills multiple times, and let me be clear: this SLS Barcelona has nothing to do with the quality or experience of those properties.
At first glance, the hotel looks okay , modern design, decent rooms, and solid finishings. But from the moment you check in, it becomes clear this is not a 5-star hotel. The service is disorganized, unpolished, and far below luxury standards. The hotel is only about 4 months old, and it’s obvious that they are still not fully operational or professionally managed. At best, this is a 4-star hotel trying to play in the 5-star category.
Now let’s talk about the real issue.
During my stay, on the night of June 29 to 30, I was verbally assaulted by the hotel’s security staff, without reason or provocation, in the hotel lobby. The security guards, who barely spoke English and seemed to be from Eastern Europe, acted with aggressive and intimidating behavior that made me genuinely fear for my safety. had to call the police, who intervened and were present on site. Later on I was then forcibly removed from the hotel at 3:15 AM by the management itself without any explanation.
Since then, the hotel has failed to respond to any of my emails regarding refund of my last two nights. I have not received any checkout document, invoice, or written explanation for their actions.
This was not just a case of bad service, it was a complete failure in guest care, professionalism, and basic hospitality. I’ve never felt so disrespected and unsafe in any hotel in my life.
Until there is serious change in the management, staff training, and security conduct, I strongly advise you to stay elsewhere. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had
