We have been travelling across The US for >60 days. Our hotel brand of choice is a Marriott. Unfortunately this one wasn't up to the standard we have come to expect. On checking into our room I identified that the remote for the tv wasn't working. It was the only evening we wanted to watch a film before bed (time-bound as related to our travel the following day). I called immediately to ask for someone to attend the room. Over 30 mins later (and a further call) a lovely gentleman arrived and confirmed the batteries needed to be changed, and later changed them. All of the waiting (around 45 mins in total) meant we missed the opportunity to order any dinner from anywhere. Not great really. On the plus side the parking was easy and the service in the restaurant for breakfast the following morning was outstanding.

The hotel appeared to be very nice according to reviews and pictures online. I saw that it had been renovated but upon arrival, family members told me that it was once the “happening spot” for many celebrities and others that came in town before Holiday Inn took ownership. The decor was nice and clean upon entering the lobby and the front desk and staff were great! The hallway to our room on the main floor had a bad stintch/smell and the doors to the rooms showed the age of the hotel. When we entered the room the floor was very sticky and had to be cleaned which was cared for right away. There appeared to be tons of construction crew staying there as well and many of their big vehicles took up lots of the parking. Other than that it was good but if they can address the age of the doors and fix the smell it would be great! Again the staff was amazing and the Burger Theory staff was great too!

HherestoyoukidI would stay here again though this stay wasn't the greatest. I would not expect the same issues next time, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel was under renovation so we had to enter through the back door. Made loading luggage in a little tricky, but a staff member happened to be by the door and offered to assist. At 3:30 a.m. the fire alarm went off. A staff member said it was not an emergency, that someone was smoking in their room. Thought that was strange as the guests two doors down from me said their detector had been flashing intermittently throughout the night. Ours never flashed at all, not even when the alarm outside our room was going off. The fire department came to my (adult) son's room to check that detector saying it was his that set it off. My son doesn't smoke, which apparently was easy enough for them to figure out with no smell of smoke or evidence of smoking in the room. An hour or so later the clock alarm went off. We hadn't set it. I turned it off but some time later it went off again. I unplug it from the wall. It went off again. I finally buried it under a bunch of pillows. It finally stopped. The next morning I overheard a maintenance person telling a staff member something along the lines of minimal things they could do as the fire alarm system was old and perhaps, given a big storm rolled through during the night, some water had gotten to the wires and set it off. So we didn't get a good night's sleep, but the staff were pleasant and the room was clean. In particular, the lady manning the breakfast and coffee station, Helen, was a doll. She asked everyone how their evening was, helped anyone who needed it, immediately cleaned off tables when people left, always wore a smile, and was just ever so delightful. My mother said the grits were the best she'd had in a long while. She told Helen it was obvious she knows how to cook grits. Helen smiled, thanked her and said she's been making grits for a long time. Thanks Helen, for being you! Five stars for Helen!
DDickersonI was totally disappointed on this trip. I booked a Standard King room and upon entering the room noticed that it wasn’t what I reserved. I was given the keys to a King Mobility roll in shower room (Handicap) instead.
I spoke to the front desk who informed me that the 3rd party booked this evidently in error. My question was how, when my confirmation states, Standard King. 5 minutes later the front desk called and stated that there were no more Standard Kings left but they would accommodate me with a Standard Double if I like along with being offered complementary snacks since I was upset. I declined both, because
I believe after I mentioned my confirmation number they went back, checked it and realized that the mistake was on their end. I will be in contact with Trip because there was a difference in price as I also mentioned to the front desk rep as well.
GGuest UserThe only thing I liked about this hotel was the clean rooms. Everything else: a major disappointment. We checked in Thursday 7/21, and the front desk computers were down. The front desk agent registered me by pen and paper, it took 25 minutes. When I went to my room, the air conditioner wasn't working, so I had to go back to the front desk and change my room (another 10 minutes by pen and paper). The air conditioning units in each room, lobby, and dining area were over 30 years old. The hotel itself (lobby, dining area, exterior building, landscaping, and parking lot) wasn't well maintained and didn't reflect the photos shown on the Travelocity website. There was peeling paint in our guest bathroom, and the furniture in the lobby was faded, dirty, and worn. The lobby computer was sitting on a desk that was bar high, but had a normal sized chair instead of a bar stool. The lobby computer also had unreliable internet connectivity. The bathroom had motion sensors that turned the light and fan on every time you walked in or past the bathroom. The front desk had staff who were visibly frustrated and unmotivated regarding the issues with the hotel. Two front desk personnel informed me they were on the receiving end of other angry, dissatisfied guests. The housekeeping staff wore regular clothes, not clothing indicating they were housekeeping; some of their clothes were untidy, and one of them was wearing jeans without a belt; his pants were hanging below his butt. Both ice machines were out of order. The website listed an outdoor swimming pool. but it was located at the adjacent hotel (a rundown hotel) next door and it was out of order. It didn't look like the pictures on the website. At 1215am Friday a front desk agent knocked on my door because they forgot I moved to another room. He needed to confirm that the room was occupied and not vacant. Breakfast had very few items, some of the items, such as fruit appeared frozen and almost rotten. I paid for two rooms for a total of $988 for an average cost of $165 a night. I rate this hotel as two stars. When it comes to hotels, first impressions and overall presentation are two key factors. Based on my three night experience, I won’t be returning. I did speak to the manager about the issues, and I received a $100 credit on my hotel bill. However, offering small credits pale in comparison to the overall issues of this hotel. The management and ownership seemed to care more about business than repeat business. When speaking to them directly, I felt they offered lip service, but no genuine concern for the issues with the hotel. I believe the issues I had with this hotel aren’t recent, and management nor ownership hasn’t taken any steps to improve the minor issues and the overall appearance and services of this hotel. Without an external inspection or audit, I feel the issues will be an ongoing experience for anyone who stays there.
AAllie DThe hotel was undergoing a renovation when we came. Although I'm sure the renovation will eventually be nice, there was much to be desired. Firstly, although the listing on ********** said the room slept 5, it slept four and we had to cram three large kids into one bed as there were not trundles or anything provided. There was no seating in the room - when we ate in the room we had to sit on the beds. The beds were so squeaky they woke us up at night from just rolling over. The bathroom sink did not drain properly and bugs also came out of the drain. There was no breakfast even though it said it was provided online on the hotel's website. The worst part was that we were not offered a refund or credit even though the listing was not as described. Will never stay here again. I expect a budget hotel for a budget price, but saying things in the listing that are not true is crossing a line.
GGuest UserI stayed at this hotel to drive Uber for the weekend. It was a very, very enjoyable stay. I have anxiety and depression ( who doesn't) so I had my kitten with me and they were ok with that. I had a Dr' s note just in case. I asked them not to do any housekeeping because I had Journee in there and I was afraid she would run out and they complied, they were very pleasant people and I will definitely stay there again and I would encourage anyone to stay there if u r in the area. It's not a fancy expensive hotel, but it was clean and u get what u need and that is what it is about, somewhere to lay your head and wake up in the morning.
