GGuest UserI had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The room was clean, and the location is good. But most important is the staff. All of them are so friendly and always ready to help you. Always smiling. I would like to mention Vanessa, Lucas, Thomas, and Chef Concierge Moo Thaw for their excellent service. I wish all of them a great future in their career. Thank you. 😊

PPomPom0It was a great stay. Staffs are polite and helpful. A male receptionist and a woman Housekeeping attendant at 16th floor were particularly helpful during my stay. The Pool is beautiful and I was actually amazed that they built a very deep pool for a hotel (1.9 m). My feet barely touched the pool ground, but they did have the fitness trainer who watched out for the deep pool. The room is okay, but I feel like it’s a bit small. Don’t get me wrong, they already are among the widest rooms in Yangon, yet the room I got had very tight entrance. The bathroom is separated with toilet and shower and bathtub. TV is rather small, I expected to have a more updated smart TV in this kind of hotel. The only thing I wasn’t satisfied was Breakfast. Yes, they did have variety of selections but the tastes were blend and honestly, I didn’t like their food menus. Overall, it was pretty decent memory to stay at Melia.

ZZmeyerOld luxury hotel - resort style big pool, great breakfast, spacious rooms. They have to renovate it, but it still very nice. Ah, by the way. Its hard to find some restaurants nearby - be prepared for taxi for any case. But they have 24h convenient store on first floor. And - its very strange for the hotel of this level - there was a situation with exec lounge. It was in my booking but they refuse to give me access: ”It was an error in room description”. Guys, its really not my trouble, right? I wasnt in the mood for hard negotiations, so... let carma decide ))) And they have no local shuttle bus (yes, there is an error on hotel site). Heh )))

GGary Joseph HayesReview: The Governor’s Residence, Yangon The Governor’s Residence remains one of Yangon’s most atmospheric and elegant hotels, combining colonial charm with modern comfort. Nestled in a quiet embassy district, the restored teak mansion, once the home of a British colonial governor, immediately impresses with its graceful architecture and tranquil gardens. Approaching through leafy pathways and lotus ponds, guests are welcomed into an oasis that feels far removed from the bustle of downtown Yangon. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring polished teak floors, four-poster beds, and traditional Burmese textiles that reflect the building’s heritage. Balconies overlook either the lush gardens or the inviting fan-shaped swimming pool, creating a sense of calm retreat. The service is consistently warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, with staff eager to share local knowledge and assist with arrangements. Dining is a highlight. The open-air restaurant offers refined Burmese and international dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and presented with flair. Breakfast under the wide verandas, with tropical birdsong in the background, is especially memorable. Afternoon cocktails by the pool or an evening meal by candlelight evoke the romantic grandeur of a bygone era. What sets the Governor’s Residence apart is its atmosphere: it is not simply a hotel but a living reminder of Yangon’s colonial past, reimagined with comfort and grace. Whether visiting on business or leisure, guests leave with a sense of serenity and timeless elegance. For those seeking a blend of history, luxury, and authentic Burmese hospitality, this residence is an exceptional choice.

CChris PabI had originally planned to stay for two nights, but I needed to cancel my second night. The staff were very understanding and accommodating, which I really appreciated. The room was simple and functional. There was nothing particularly luxurious, but it had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious considering the size of the room. I also enjoyed the view from the room. Breakfast was good, and the hotel itself was very clean and well organized. The highlight of my stay was definitely the staff. Even when there was a language barrier, they made a genuine effort to communicate and help in any way they could. Their friendliness and professionalism made a very positive impression. Overall, this is a clean, practical hotel with excellent service, and I would recommend it to travelers looking for a comfortable stay in Yangon.

LlinbewieThe hotel is clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast spread is decent and since the breakfast hall is on the top floor, the view is nice. Location is good with convenience shop and a small mall within reasonable walking distance. Highly recommended for those looking for a place with value for money.

GGuest UserThe room was clean and the view was great, and the breakfast was satisfying. The water pressure in the shower was also excellent. The location is a little far from the city center, but I think it is very reasonable. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity to come to Yangon. The only downside was that it took a long time to check out.

IIsfp-Solo TravelerEverything was good👌👌👌😍💙…The only downside was that you might feel too lazy to go out or sightsee because the hotel room was very comfortable, and it was extremely hot outside😅 —- You could just stay in your room, enjoy the view, go for a swim, or have a spa day…. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options, and they even changed some of the dishes the next day. My favorite was the sauna—it was really good. I also loved the hot shower, as it didn’t turn cold even after being on for a long time😍 The massages were great, and the prices were reasonable…. The staff were very helpful and kind…. There were occasional power interruptions, but they only lasted a few seconds since the hotel’s backup power kicked in immediately… + Although it’s a bit far from the tourist spots, you can take a Grab—it’s affordable and the best option since it gets really hot during the day….

KKSSKLocation of the property is opposite to Myanmar Plaza shopping mall. It would be great if the size gate of the property could open for guests to walk a shorter distance to the mall. Service staffs were very friendly, especially Lenna who was very efficient during the check-out process and responded professionally to queries. Breakfast at D’Cusine was average needs improvement. There is also a Japanese Restaurant and a Korean restaurant for dining within the property. Swimming pool is excellent especially for family with kids. Club at basement played good music. Take note of age group and dress code requirements. Overall highly satisfied with the stay at this property.

00519The hostel is located in the old town, not far from the central train station. The lobby is on the first floor, and the rooms are on the second and third floors. Bed linens are changed after each guest. There's a table in the room, but the window is poorly maintained and can't be closed. A helpful young man at the front desk speaks some Chinese. The other staff only speak the local language, so communication was difficult. When I checked out, the front desk asked me to pay for the last night's stay, even though I had already paid. They said they hadn't received it, but thankfully the young man who speaks some Chinese came out and confirmed that I had paid in full.
