"Great hotel option for a Barcelona city stay. We really liked this hotel at the edge of Barcelona city. This hotel is still within zone 1 of Barcelona so you can use a 1 zone public transport to get to and from almost anywhere in Barcelona. The location is pretty good but it is a bit close to the La Mina neighborhood which is a poorer neighborhood of Barcelona. There have been improvements in the neighborhood but it is still recommended to stick to the areas that are near the hotel or the south and west of the hotel (towards the sea) if you plan to stay out late at night. We found the area very convenient for us as we arrived early morning and the Forum metro station is nice and the area immediately near the hotel has reasonable level of security and local police presence. The hotel reception and team was very cordial and serviceable. The room we got was very good, had a nice balcony and it overlooks the nearby student accommodation so it was silent at night. Breakfast was very tasty and had enough of a food variety + delicious breads and iberico ham."

"Overall, the hotel is very good and I highly recommend it. The location is excellent, Verdaguer metro station nearby (L4 & L5). Also, there are few bus stops nearby the hotel. Casa Mila and Sagrada Familia are within walking distance (15 mins). Fine dining restaurants are also nearby. The breakfast did not have many varieties. The hotel is very clean and so are the room (601)."

"The overall should have been great but how disappointed that the hotel charged my credit card with extra 10% without reasonable explanation. After raising my query for 15 mins, they finally admitted that it was their mistake but still saying ‘don’t know why’. End up they agreed to refund the over charge to my credit card account. Couldn’t believe that such a big name of hotel would have done that to travelers…."

"The hotel is ideally located at Plaza de España, close to both the A1 airport bus stop and the subway station, making it convenient for exploring major attractions, and it's also very near the stadium. The breakfast restaurant offered a choice of one main dish, but overall, the breakfast was quite mediocre. A floor plan is provided, which is useful for verifying your room's location once you receive your room number. I'm not sure if it was related to the xc booking or another reason, but for a standard room, we were assigned a very odd layout. The space was so tight that it was difficult to walk on one side of the double bed. As we were only staying for a couple of nights, we didn't bother requesting a room change."

"We used this hotel as a 1 night stop over for a cruise that we were on the following day. I picked it for its location as it is about 15 mins from the airport so it’s before you get to the city centre and it’s about the same time to the port . The hotel is modern , very clean and well kept . The staff are really friendly and were always helpful when it came to questions . Breakfast is buffet and does the job well. If you are a larger party with rooms on different floors then ask reception if you can have access key cards to their floors as you won’t be able to get to any other floor other than reception and your room floor from the lifts . It would probably be easier to try and guarantee the rooms you want before your stay . Overall we had an excellent experience and will use again in future."

"This hotel truly embodies the high standards of a tourist city, and I was completely won over. The atmosphere is lovely, the breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of choices, and the service was also top-notch. It's very convenient for getting around, with metro and bus stops right nearby. Three of Gaudi's most famous works are within walking distance. The bathroom had excellent wet/dry separation, and the room was quite spacious."

"Pros: - The staff was lovely, friendly and helpful - If you request something, such as an iron etc., it’s always on time and without delay - Everything was clean. I cannot complain about the cleaning standards. Cons - the room is quite dark despite the lights available - The view, especially the back view, was dreary and depressing, considering I had a long flight from Asia compared to my sister, who flew from Europe and didn’t need the rest as much as I did. Every day, I woke up to a very depressing view. It’s not ideal, and it's poor for someone who may enjoy visuals. - The sockets were annoying; one didn’t work, and the kettle station needed to be handheld or changed elsewhere. Twice, I held the kettle button down manually to make coffee because I couldn’t be bothered for someone to come and check or replace it as I was in a rush - The furniture and carpets are outdated in style and appearance. It makes the hotel look way older - There’s a door holder behind the bathroom door, which lands in the middle, next to the toilet. I hurt myself a few times because I keep forgetting it’s there and, therefore, poorly designed - Unfortunately, we forgot to bring our toothpaste and toothbrush, though I wasn’t expecting Best Western not to have them in your room. You have to request them every day. The housekeeper didn’t leave them or free water for us daily, only on the first day. So I’m not sure if she’s been forgetting to give us any, or it’s only complimentary water on day 1. - The wardrobe is tiny and in such a hidden, awakened position. It was dark black and looked like glass. We had to call the staff to show us. It’s in a weird place - Slippers: Again, much like the water, we were only given slippers on the first day. I understand the need to go green, but given that we stayed for four nights, it would be hygienic to give us a new set. On the last day, we had to wear our own shoes inside the room, which wasn’t great. - We paid € 15 additional for breakfast daily €. It was basic but not bad. But the time until 10:30AM is good. Overall, was it worth the money we paid for four nights? No. The only highlights were ,mentioned among the professional staff members and cleanliness standards."

"Place was excellent, and the breakfast was great. Slept like log, which hasn't happened in a long time so was pleasant to wake up feeling fresh. It's a little far from main town, but to be honest it was nicer as it was more quite at night. I recommend setting up the T-Mobilitat app to use on busses and metro, it works out a lot cheaper, you can even use it for the airport bus."

"The hotel is in a pretty good location. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and a bus stop is conveniently located right across the street. Plus, within about a 10-minute walk in different directions, you can find two subway lines, making transportation incredibly convenient. There's a safe in the dorm room, but you'll need to bring your own padlock. The bathroom features separate shower and toilet areas, which is great as it doesn't disturb others. However, the toilet cubicle itself is quite small. Besides the in-room facilities, each floor also has additional toilets and shower rooms. I stayed on the 5th floor. The room had great natural light and was very quiet at night. My roommates were all very nice. The only minor drawback was the absence of bed curtains."
