Coach driver had no idea where he was going once we got to bansko. Arrived at hotel gone midnight. Room ok, comfy and clean. Food atrocious, always luke warm or cold, stuck together scrambled and fried eggs, tasteless cereal and bread so hard it didn’t need toasting. Evening meal awful, once again luke warm and very unappetising. No English breakfast tea after the third day of our week. Staff not very helpful made worse by about 40 kids arriving on our second day treating the hotel like a racetrack. Running round the corridors and making a noise, 7 teachers taking no notice and letting them run riot. Kids sitting up at the bar with the teachers. Picked up to go home 90 minutes after our pick up time so a mad rush when we got back to Sofia airport. Total chaos and came home in desperate need of a holiday. Hotel pirin should be called hostel pirin.

Started on arrival when we wanted a quiet drink in the bar and was a kids party and screaming kids running riots . Then on to evening meal a limited menu and the food was horrific and freezing cold . The barman seemed to make up his prices as he pleased only taking cash . Buffet breakfast was awful and everything freezing cold and stale bread . Wouldn’t go near this hotel ever again

Rooms are good very clean great shower cannot fault but breakfast and dinner are dreadful especially the dinner luke warm food very similar offering every day just dreadful you'll find full first night and fewer every day last night about 8 people eating in a hotel with 60+ rooms great swimming pool and gym though Overall if you eat out you'll be more than happy

You can't can't compare Bulgarian hotels with those in the UK as the styling is very different. I don't expect greatness, but somewhere comfy and clean at the end of a busy day exploring. Hotel Pirin fits the bill. It's very reasonably priced with a very good breakfast and dinner buffet with enough choices to meet most tastes and with good flavours. There is also a really nice pool, sauna and steam room for unwinding after a long day, which are spotless and the pool is a perfect temperature. Thank you Hotel Pirin.

Although there were just a few guesta in the hotel in that period, all the services at the hotel were available and at good level. It was warm, clean and cosy. Very good chef and delicious food - piping hot soup, tender meat, tasty fried bread....

No fault of the Hotel Pirin, but we arrived at 11.30pm as arranged with Balkan Travel. A packed supper had been prepared, cold potatoes, cucumber, bread and chicken, perfect for a vegetarian (pre booked). The cigarette smoke enfused rooms are dated but clean. The night was interrupted constantly by the partying Brits returning from town. Having not eaten the night before I was ready for a hearty breakfast.......all the hot items were tepid, the toaster took 10 minutes to turn fresh bread to stale! The butter turned out to be near rancid margarine, the coffee was none existent in a hot milk producing machine. Muesli was amazing, it had every morsel of taste removed, the fresh orange juice was squash. I took time to mention the terrible breakfast to the receptionist and was met with a reassuring shrug! Dinner was adequate, that's as much as I can say for that. All in all, Hotel Pirin is much more of a hostel than hotel. The 4 stars are totally misleading, this at best would be a great 2 star budget hostel.

Hotel is basic but more than adequate for a weeks stay for skiing. Its in the old town and is about 30 minutes walk to the Gondola. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to and from the gondola which operates from 0800 and times are posted. Never had a problem getting a space on it. There is a boot room with boot dryiers and ski storage, ample storage space. The hotel has a pool, a sauna and a steam room, all perfectly fine and we used everyday before dinner. The breakfast is basic, its edible but basic. Same as the evening meal limited choice and basic. We ate in there of an evening only once, the old town is very close with numerous restaurants at very reasonable prices and the ski resort is 30 minutes walk again with ample restaurants. Alot of these restaurants offer and pick up and drop off service. The bar has enough selection but i found the prices a little expensive from the surrounding areas. Rooms big with plenty of storage space, they are basic but clean. It misses a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities. Room cleaned every day. Overall it was a good hotel for our stay, it met our needs. Personally I found it a bit too far out of the main centre. A taxi is 10/15 lev so not too expensive. For the price we paid for the hotel I would stay here again. Theres a little shop opposite the hotel where you can get very cheap drinks, snacks and beers.
