Valia Hotel Bangkok

The hotel's overall service, facilities, and food were extremely poor. There was also a major power outage. The photos I provided were taken around 2 or 3 a.m. during the outage. The hotel staff even tried to stop me from taking photos. Power outages seem to be a common occurrence at this hotel, as the staff's expressions didn't seem particularly surprising. The power outages really need to be handled more effectively. I've never experienced such a power outage before. Except for the lobby and public areas, the air conditioning in the rooms, electricity, and phone calls were all out, forcing guests to walk to the lobby to inquire about the situation. I also saw many people cancel their reservations and leave. No one at the hotel could tell us when the power would be restored. The worst part was that this happened around midnight, so I was left awake all night. As for breakfast, I hope the hotel can improve. There's hardly any Asian or even Thai food available. Almost all the dishes are Indian, and even the Indian curries are very bland and almost watery. There are no desserts, no porridge, and no drinks either. I hope the hotel can improve this. The food selection was pretty much the same every day for several days. What's worse is that the breakfast area has almost no air conditioning. The hotel isn't in a remote location, so I don't understand why so many areas are like a primeval forest, without electricity or air conditioning. As for the staff, I think they could do better. During the power outage, the staff had no idea when the power would be back on, acting as if it wasn't their business. It rained for one or two days during our stay, but there were no staff in the lobby to help with umbrellas or umbrella tubes for workers. There were no towels or anything else on the floor, leaving the lobby quite messy. The hotel's shuttle bus was also odd. After waiting for about 10 minutes, the staff told us to take another bus to a shopping mall. It seems like if they actually provided a shuttle, The bus was supposed to be driven by the same hotel staff, rather than asking guests to take a separate bus. It didn't go to our intended destination, which felt very unsafe. Furthermore, the hotel doesn't drive on schedule, so providing a bus wasn't very helpful. Overall, this hotel is probably one of the worst I've stayed at.
