Prince Palace Hotel Bangkok

Outdated hotel. We received an upgrade that, in our opinion, was more of a downgrade. The hotel could use some renovation.

I stayed at this hotel eight years ago, but the impression is hazy. This time, I saw the hotel's name and photos on Ctrip, and reminiscing about the good times, I booked it. The hotel is located on a small side street. It's a large building, consisting of four connected buildings (ABCD). The ground floor houses a Bangkok wholesale clothing market. Taxis are occasionally available at the entrance, but tuk-tuks are about 100 meters away, along the main road. There's a convenience store downstairs and a cash exchange directly opposite. The front desk is on the 11th floor, and a 1,000 baht deposit is required for check-in. The hotel entrance is surrounded by several steps, and large luggage needs to be wheeled up the stairs, which is difficult with luggage without wheels. The hotel's general facilities are pleasant, including the lobby, outdoor pool, and bar (restaurant bar). Breakfast, available from 6:00 to 10:00, offers a wide variety and is good value. The large restaurant on the 12th floor is busy in the mornings. The hotel's downsides are that, despite years of operation, the amenities in the rooms are quite old. There aren't enough charging sockets, and the trash cans don't have bags. Inexplicably, only the bathrooms have toilet paper rolls; the two-bedroom, one-living-room rooms don't even have them! Furthermore, the toilet paper rolls are of poor quality and often get punctured when you wipe your butt. Check-out was also quite slow. We booked a 12:30 taxi and arrived at the front desk at 12:10, but ended up waiting in line until 12:31. After negotiating, we were given priority, which further demonstrates the excellent service. Picture 1 shows the front desk, Pictures 2-3 show the lobby, and Picture 4 shows the stairs from the 11th floor to the 12th floor breakfast restaurant.

Located in the heart of Bobae, within the same building, it's easy to find food and shopping downstairs. 

The floor is high, you can see the Bangkok city view, the hotel is large, the swimming pool is quite good. There is a water bus stop downstairs, but it is a bit far from the subway station.
