Nice view and clean. Except smell

My biggest issue was that the air conditioning only worked during specific hours. The AC wasn't on in the dorm rooms between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, making it an uncomfortably hot temperature for napping or resting. The AC in the first-floor common area also only ran until about 11:00 PM (I'm not sure about the other floors). If you're a night owl and want to relax with a beer in the common area, you'll be sweating. The second-floor public area was filled with desks and chairs suitable for working. There were no sofas or comfortable chairs with backrests. Because of this, I couldn't nap in my room from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM as it was too hot, and I couldn't relax in the common area either since I had to sit upright. I think the hostel could improve by adding some comfortable chairs or loungers to the common areas. The hostel itself is located inside a fish market. You have to endure a strong fishy smell every day when you leave and return to the hostel (the inside of the hostel itself is odorless). The instructions for the washing machine weren't very clear. I had no idea how many coins were needed or how long the cycle was. You have to figure it out by trial and error. I later found that a wash and spin cycle took 28 minutes. There also weren't enough drying racks. I did some research and learned that due to high electricity costs, limited AC use may be common in some parts of Thailand. If air conditioning is important to you, I would advise asking the accommodation about its operating hours beforehand. I loved the staff at the hostel. They were friendly, talkative, and professional. The specially made welcome drink was also a thoughtful touch. However, in the heat of August, I couldn't properly rest and relax here. Ultimately, I only stayed for one night out of the six I booked and checked out the next afternoon, understanding that it was non-refundable.
