Our family recently stayed at The Old Inn in Bandipur, and it was an unforgettable experience. This 100-year-old heritage building has been beautifully restored to welcome guests while preserving its historic charm. Staying here felt like stepping back in time, surrounded by the serene ambiance of this heritage town. The best part? Absolute peace, with no sounds of vehicles disrupting the tranquility. We were greeted with hot towels and hibiscus tea on the terrace. This was delightful as we had just finished a trek and a long drive. The rooms were lovely with a magnificent view out to the Himalayas. Breakfast the next morning was the best we had in Nepal. Staff were great.

The Old Inn in Bandipur is zonder twijfel sfeervol, met zijn traditionele architectuur en authentieke inrichting, maar de ervaring voelt te duur voor wat er geboden wordt. De locatie is prachtig, met schitterende uitzichten en een rustige ambiance, maar de kamers zijn vrij eenvoudig en missen het moderne comfort dat je voor deze prijs zou verwachten. Het eten is prima, maar niet bijzonder. De service is vriendelijk, maar kan traag zijn. Verder niets bijzonders voor Nepal. Voor de hoge tarieven had ik meer aandacht voor detail en luxe verwacht. Een mooie plek, maar niet helemaal het geld waard. Voor 25% van de prijs kan je in een hotel aan de overkant zitten. Als het overbooked is dan bieden ze een kamer in het ernaast gelegen Gaunghar aan. Niet doen. Kamers veel te klein en de prijs is het hotel is helemaal het geld niet waard.

We stayed two nights in the Old Inn in Bandipur and we were sad to leave. The hotel is a living museum of Newari craftmansship with what feels like a hundred nooks and balconies to sit, relax and enjoy the view of the valley or people watch the Main Street. We had dinner at the restaurant both nights because it was so good and ambience in the garden is beautiful with views and lights. Staff was always friendly, attentive and helpful! We would recommend this hotel to any travelers coming to Nepal.

The building is old and nice. Rooms were clean but dark and with low ceiling. There are no glass windows, only wooden plates to cover the window openings. Sleeping was difficult, a lot of noise from the festivities on the street (as my windows were facing the street). The staff was friendly and very helpful. The electricity is an issue, as the dinner in the near darkness it not the thing I usually enjoy.

We absolutely loved the Old Inn! It is a stunning building, so full of character and completely charming. Our room (which was actually two rooms and a shower room and twisty corridors) was clean and comfortable with lots of quirky original features. It had a balcony overlooking the main (pedestrianised) road below where we sat in the sun and ate our lunch. There is water in glass bottles but there isn’t a kettle in the room however we ordered tea out on the terrace and when we went to pay they said there was no charge. The staff as a whole couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful and everything ran very smoothly. The evening meal (a set curry menu with lots of dishes) was delicious (as was lunch) and we ate outside on the terrace with lights twinkling in the trees - it was totally magical. Breakfast was also good, all very fresh, freshly cooked and plentiful. I would recommend The Old Inn to anyone - it was a unique and very memorable stay.

Sur sur la rue principale du village de Bandipur . Une auberge, avec beaucoup beaucoup de cachet et un bon confort. Nous avions une chambre tout en haut, deuxième étage avec deux volets,de marche très raide à grimper. Notre chambre avait un balcon avec une vue magnifique sur la vallée.. agencement assez bizarre avec des toilettes dont la porte était très basse et une douche située a l’opposé de la chambre . Dîner buffet moyen , bon petit déjeuner. Personnel accueillant , serviable et très gentil.
